Agree 100%
I dont reckon Smorgon has a plan, and i dont reckon smorgon has much of a clue. BUT did it ever occur to you Synbad, in your infinate wisdom, that the guys he's brought in MIGHT just have some ideas? That they MIGHT have a plan?
How about before you go and bag every single name that gets thrown up, you actually give them a chance to say something. And i know what you're thinking; why should we give these guys a chance when smorgon has failed us before?
The answer is simple. Just because Smorgon appointed these 4 guys, it DOES NOT necessarily mean that they want to align themselves with him. We all know that Smorgons up s**t creek without a paddle...he'll take any help he can get right now, even if it means the guys that he brings in eventually go on to screw him over.
I think you'll find that for harrison and moulton, joining the board now is a means to an end. They want top get their voices heard and get the ball rolling in order to eventually create change. Massive Change.
People like you, Synbad, who do have a genuine love of the footy club, HAVE to give these guys a chance to be heard! Then, and only then, can they be judged fairly.

Like ive said before... if it looks like shit.. and it smells like shit.. why do i have to taste it to know its shit???

These guys should go onto the board in a fashion that makes them worthy contributers..... (voted on via an election)

The rest is bullshit!!!... we dont need people coming in invited onto the board on an extended interchange bench basis.

How are they better equipped to handle the situation than even say Valmorbida???... (who was sacked really.. even though he won an elevtion (last year)and has contributed $$$)

Apart from Sticksand Lee on that current board who else has faced an election of their own bat???

NOONE!!!
Pathetic!!!.. especially if you look at the productivity they have to be measured by.

Political post? Of course, as it is a political subject.

Blue Vain's post about 'democracy' is smart, as I didn't state my case too well, but I guess my point is that considering the short timeframe, I'm not too worried about the appointees.

As for being a stooge for Smorgon or anyone else, I'm not advocating him or anyone else, just putting some thoughts into perspective.

Isn't it OK to guess that some of the incumbents occasionally have done the right thing?

One can't help but wonder where your perspective has been prior to this weeks events.

I'll tell you something - if you are a stooge, you're treating all on this forum like idiots and are doing your cause more damage than good. If you are a stooge I find your presence distasteful and condescending. If you are a stooge you'd do more for your cause by being transparent and stating your case point by point, treating us all like the intelligent adults that we are.

Of that's only if you are a stooge - if you're not then there's no need for you to be concerned hey?

Anally expelling razor blades like everyone else over what's been in the paper, especially over the coaching issue.

That's why I want a stable committee, whether it be Smorgon's mob or another. Once there is a stable committee, which isn't split down the middle like the current version, then that's who I'll vote for.

Ill give you a clue.... stability comes from performance and professionalism.
The board is not stable because questions are being asked and cronism is alive and well on it...

how bout if smorgy produces a plan now will that help?

on of those plans on a spreadsheet, that you can put a number in for members and the total revenue changes one thats adaptable and can be used for many years to come.

One thats got key assumptions like interest rates, inflation, exchange rates etc.

Surely a guy in charge of a top 200 company can do that - He could do it with Ralph as theyre lying on the sunbed together

(sorry about the sunbed image its making me feel poorly gotta go)

What about ralphy carr, Josh? Both sides would be doing a lot of behind the scenes work to shore up his support I reckon.

if he doesn't hold his Bluesaid benefit concert we are stuffed financially.

did he do Farmaid?

Plot thickens. They've said a lot that makes them sound like Smorgon cronies and that worries me.

Is voting for Smorgon a prerequisite to get these revenue streams of $1 million each? If so, the question must be asked why Smorgon couldn't get the revenue stream himself? Why does Smorgon get other people to do the dirty work for him?

I don't know whether that interview in the HUN was the greatest thing for our club. Here they are attacking the Board for handling the review of the football department and then saying that they support them and need unity to handle everything.

They sound like either 2 very confused people either caught in between 2 camps because they love the club and want to help out or 2 very stupid people who have been used by Smorgon whilst trying to promote their own ends. I hope for their sake it's the former.

Moulton comes in and starts throwing his weight around in the media straight away....

Opionions on coach
Fevola
The AFL
The board
Rival Tickets (John Elliot in effect tying Tom to him)

Oh the web that Smorgon weaves is out of control...

How can you be independent yet be a part of a "unity ticket"? :?
What am I missing here?

The jibe at the AFL intrigues me. What did the board expect? If you take money from them, of course they'll want some form of control. Thats why Collo avoided sticking his hand out.

Surely Smorgon was'nt so naive to expect the AFL to just give them money and walk away.
