Sal, people who have have to big note their achievements and belittle others who have not been given recognition for their achievements will not win anyones respect.

I respect people who do not seek recognition for their achievements. These are the people we need at the club (and in any position of power in this world), people who quietly go about doing a good job and not seek a media profile from it. Smorgon lost it for me when he hired a PR firm to cover his ass. His job is not about his reputation, its about looking after the club.

What's his little trinket? I don't get it. A premiership brooch?

When I first read it I figured he'd won the purple heart but that didn't make any sense.

With respect to Smorgon.. i dont think he hired the PR firm for only himself but also because he believes the club didnt have a handle on the media... (Sticks compounded that problem with his stupidity)I really believe the club doesnt have a problem with the media per sey.. it has mnore to do with the fact that the club has a lot of cracks and of course the media will jump on them.
You cant just wallpaper them with PR spin... you have to fix them..
So now the PR people are put of ideas.. oir Smorgon wont invest more into the company... and the cracks are still there and expanding.

All this rubbish stems from mismanagement..

Absolute nonsense.
Have a read of the post at the top of this topic and get back to me.
Sal has been far more personal than anyone has with him.
He has come here to play political games. He and others will sign up over the next month and try to manipulate your vote.
In my view, they are treating us with contempt.

IMO In this instance, he has fallen short of the mark and taken his bat and ball and gone home.

Agree 100%. Sal was clearly a political plant, and if he wasn't he had nothing to worry about. I found his presence condescending and offensive.

Good riddance.

I have at home in a blue velvet box with a little trinket inside that was presented to me in 1987 by Bob Hawke on the podium at the Mecca. I think after time it's gone purple but regardless is something you people will never have at least not earned like i did, I played and toyed with you lightweights over the last week or so and you have demonstrated your complete lack of understanding on what is required to obtain one of those and more to the point what makes a club tick and why we're in this position now. Hang on to your forum because it's the closest thing you'll ever have to having some semblance of how a club ticks even if born out of ignorance.

I'll leave you with this, grow up, instead of whinging, have a go yourself, put you own little ticket together of McDonalds workers and see how your cards fall that's the beauty of a democracy other than that shut up and put your money where your mouth is it won't happen because you're weak. Stand up for yourselves and do so without hiding behind your key board.

Cha Cha
Contemptuous

Ptuuii...

Wow - so you had what it takes to win a premiership at the highest level but now you've spat the dummy because you couldn't match it with a bunch of anonymous monkeys tapping away at their keyboards?

That's one hell of a fall from grace in less than 20 years...

Get that little purple thing our of its case and give it a good going over with Brasso Sal. Take a sniff or two while you're at it. Even if it doesn't polish up too well the toxicity of the chemicals should hopefully add a little to your dreams of past glory.

I've never worked in McDonalds. Eaten there, sure....but never worked there. Maybe that's why I could never be called a lightweight if you actually met me....

Bye, Sal. Don't let the door hit your arse on the way out.
