No offence to our sources, but these white knight stories are getting real old.

Mobile phones are prevalent - surely the uncontactable line is another way of saying "sorry, not interested".

100% Correct - If this was for real, then it could be done in 8 hours let alone 8 days.

100% Correct - people pumping themselves up as all knowing / all seeing - just talking crap. If this was for real, then it could be done in 8 hours let alone 8 days.

No offence meant to my esteemed TC colleagues

I certainly am not accusing any of the TC sources as talking crap - there are many reliable sources on this forum that stick their necks out with the info they have.

What I'm sick of is the people feeding the TC sources - I just wish they'd get their shit together, put together a plan to get us out of the shit and give us some strength and unity.

I hadnt heard the Pratt rumour and hence was never overly excited about it.
The truth is Harrison/ Moulton are claiming to have the backing of both Pratt and Brown..
Again, if they have to move from Smorgons leadership, they will..
The plot thickens.

What the FLOWER

Three days ago I was "flowering" doing back flips and now this!!

The initial post indicated Smorgan is going to announce tomorrow that the AGM will be held on the 8th of Feb. Let just wait and see if Smorgan does announce anything about the AGM this week. I suppose the longer it takes for the club to announce the date of the AGM the better off we may be.

I still can't comprehend how someone like Pratt would toss in the towel because of the timing. You would think that Pratt would have plenty of influential people around him that would be prepared to support him and more IMPORTANTLY the club at our time of need.

Hopefully the club doesn't announce anything about the AGM until Feb 2007.

Early election date thwarts Carlton board challenge

Quote:
Smorgon is set to announce that the annual general meeting will be held on February 8, following finalisation of Carlton's financial statements. He has already indicated that the Blues were expecting a loss in the vicinity of $1 million for 2006.

You know we shouldn't post on this right now because it'll upset the holiday plans of a passionate Carlton supporter.
Quote:
As a result, 10 board members will have to stand for election, with vice-president Stephen Kernahan and Greg Lee spared from the ballot

Both are lucky to survive.

I recall Maclure being interviewed on the ABC earlier this year and saying that he walked away from a meeting with Greg Lee with the knowledge that Lee didn't have a plan.

I don't want to see another dreamteam board with former superstars and wealthy people who don't have a clue being used to just to oust the current board. If former players such as Mark Maclure and Andrew Mckay don't have the business skills of a Gary Pert I'd rather keep Gleeson on the board.

Or even the fence sitter because the members need to see a name they know on the ticket.

God knows if a board like this would get up at Carlton if they were standing with Tom Elliott as the head of the ticket.
Code:
Edward McGuire President, Company Director of McGuire Media Pty Ltd, CEO of
Channel 9.
Sally Capp Head of the Office of the CEO – Australia and New Zealand Banking
Group Limited
Jack Kennedy Surgeon
Ian McMullin General Manager – Educational Services for SSL Spotless Services
Limited
Kevin Rose Life Member, Former Player, Company Director of Rose Poultry Pty
Ltd
Alex Waislitz Company Director of Thorney Holdings Pty Ltd and McPherson’s
Limited.
Eugene Arocca Former partner of Maurice Blackburn and Cashman. Resigned as
Director on 29 November 2005.
Gary Pert General Manager – Austereo Melbourne. Commenced as Director on
17 March 2006.

Unbefloweringlievable.
If the Deluitis ticket wants more time then we just hold an extraordinary AGM with 100 signatures right?? and/or force Smorgan to change the date out of shame and to save cash.
Does anyone know who is with Tom Elliot, Andy McKay aside?

I'm starting to think Collo was right we should've handed back the keys.

Not true, there were a panel of three who interviewed MacLure, he says he asked about the club's business plan an he was not satisfied with the answer.

Blaming Greg Lee (who had been a board member all of 2 months at the time of that interview) for the club not having a business plan is plainly ridiculous.

They have had months and months to call an EGM and nothing happened. Anyone with any brains at all should have foreseen the possibility of a February AGM. If the 'holidays' excuse is used it is a very poor one.

They havent had months and months because the dynamics of the quality of people required who they have been recruiting wasnt available .

Smorgon wont dodge the bullet just because he is playing sillybuggers.

An EGM that will cost the club more when money could have been used elsewhere is not out of the question.
The guy is a dog!!... all he is interested in is his own self preservation.
Jarusa by saying what you just said it proves you have no idea what it takes to generate 8 million dollars???

That's right. They couldn't get organised earlier because the spring racing carnival prevented that. And throw in a few Ashes tests and noone has had time to scratch themselves.

Given the recent precedent of Kerry Packers 'masterstroke' xmas eve AFL rights bid the timing of our AGM should have been a no-brainer to anyone thinking about it.

When things are so desperate a rival ticket paying the $100,000 cost of a successful EGM is small bikkies in an $8M bid.

Just more excuses.

Well good... you admit you dont have a clue about it.... then its not that easy getting 8 people together inside the confines of what Smorgon left them,

Smorgon is GRAVELY MISTAKEN if he thinks that he can use his position on the clubs board to play his little games of personal survival and announce million dollar losses year after year...

Absolute stooge of a guy... Its like those scenes with a car chase in movies when theyre throwing things out the back door of a truck to slow down the chasing car..... but tossing as much as he has he will soon run out of things to toss out...

And now how wants to be the first to tell me i was wrong about this clown when i said he will be a disaster of a president.

SMORGON = WORST PRESIDENT EVER!!!!

There have been a succession of rumours concerning challenges and alternative tickets, and we have waited patiently for Friday of each week to come around for the great unveiling.

The article in 'The Age' this morning demonstrates thus far that we have no credible alternative to Smorgon's group. Given that it has been months since speculation has been circulating about new committees, it is extraordinary if the date of the AGM has somehow thrown those plans into disarray. I have doubts about the credibility of a group that can't get its act together on something as basic as this.

Are you verbs???

I didnt say there would be no AGM and that would be the end of it... but wouldnt you like things to be organised for the best of this footy club sooner than later??.. and cleaner than messier???....

Its a schomozel because we have a schomozel of a president thats trying to drag the club down at every turn..

ut all im saying is he will cop it!!!... and those who have chosen to stick by him should go too... when its time.. and it wont be that far away....!!!

It just wont be Feb... THE WORST PRESIDENT EVER bought himself some more time... which is all he has a talent for...

You must think that high flying business people who are overseas (Pratts son and Grollo) have a plane and their business plans on standby waiting for when Smorgon calls an election and actng like theyre in that reality tv show where they have to go from point A to point B as soon as they receive their card with the instructions.

When is the AGM next year now???
Its been shifted from December.. to March to now early Feb...

Is this how you run a company/ business/???

Its as professional as every other aspect of this footy club....

You cant just go covering every angle Smorgon might throw up at you because it seems he has a million obstacles in his pockets... but NO MONEY and no idea how to generate MONEY...

Anyone wanna guess when next years AGM is going to be ??

Personally id like to get a few people together from here and go to the papers and express how disheartened we as Carlton supporters are with the club and how we need change...
Does the average TC Carlton supporter feel the same way???

If you do just say yes on here... and lets see if we cant push pressure on this guy and expose this board to the wider media reading supporter.. because right now he is taking the mickey out of all Carlton supporters!!!
