Start next year, take 3 years. Called Carlton Community Center.

Also just quoted as saying "Doesn't have a solution to onfield woes, they will take care of themselves"!!!!!!!!

More details:

Will take a fair while for this process. Extensive community consultation, government consultation.

Elite training facilities are approved and under way.

They have indicative funding already available, I think this was for Stage 2.

Remove significant part of Legends stand, significant part of the Pratt stand. Return 15% of the parkland to the community.

He's talking like this is funded, but no details of where the money is coming from.

Asked how does it get us out of debt?
GS: Once this is under way there are ways to use this to get rid of debt. Tenants will pay rent etc.

How quickly can he get rid of the CFC's debt?
GS: Debt of $8M. Will issue today some convertible notes that people will invest in. Will use to pay back the AFL and as seed money for the project.

Biggest development in the AFL. Bigger facilities than any other AFL club. Wouldn't proceed without indications of funding from institutions.

Asked about Dennis:
GS: Unity ticket has a clear policy to move forward. Policy is to provide funding to football department and allow football department to look after itself. Dennis is responsible for the performance of the football department.

GS: Unity is able to secure the funding. Unity has the funding from a major bank for this project.

AFL are looking at buying out the lease and running MC Labour park.
We will be the key tenant.
CFC will have no home ground to call it's own.
Has been in the pipeline for years.

just learned about convertible notes - sounds like a way to invest in this project and get a return for yourself (ha ha) in other words trying to entice our wealthy supporters who are too selfish to just donate - they want a return rather then just give the clubs some money, the whole thing looks dodgy

That's exactly the opposite of what the Unity press releases are saying. They're saying no change at all to the ownership and leasing arrangements, other than an extension on the existing agreement.

Where did you get this from Surrey?

How quick he forgets that he got us into debt in the first place. He is spewing that they are knocking down the legend stand.

Well I love the design and the ideas, at last it shows some initiative and forward thinking outside the square. Credit where its due.

Problem is the Building plans need to be approved and from memory JE had alot of problems in this area for similar ideas.

Yeah, but I think most of those issues surrounded traffic problems on game day. This is obviously not going to be an issue here.

I spoke with a bloke last night, Lyle Lanley, whilst walking the dogs around Princes Park.

He reckons there'll be a monorail that runs from Cemetery Drive to Sydney Road as part of the development.

If they plan to make money you would want traffic problems
