Ok, they were silly but have 'transgressed' and been fined.

None of us have ever got into trouble?

As for blokes having a crack at these guys, I fear we will soon get to the situation as is the case OS where our sportstars are placed into the upper firmament never to be seen by Joe Public except on TV or entering leaving the ground.

That'll be a shame for all.

Please make sure we have a barrow load of stones at the entrance of Talking Carlton for any bile laden trollsters to pick up and throw with impunity every time they enter this place.

oh no!
Its the captaincy curse,
as soon as someone says straight out they want it ala Lance and Fev something happens  .

Even the "hopeful" vice captain ? Simmo was there.....

I'd say its just darn bad luck this had to happen.

And such BAD timing...

Give the captaincy back to Kouta for 2007 then look at Murphy in 2008. I could live with that.

Why 10 pages on all this. They were out after curfew, so what? It's not in-season yet. Probably heaps of players do the same thing but unless there's an indident, 90% of the time no-one knows. wouldn't be the first captain that's been in trouble in the past.........eg Carey, Riccuto, even Ponting (remember the Boubon and Beefsteak). for Lance, other than the small fine, this is nothing. just the usual overblown incident that people just love to take out of proportion.

Scotland might in a little more strife though being the one involved in the incident.

I think everyone is skipping the major issue here. Just viewed the ninemsn article and was shocked by the needless slander of poor Ian Prendergast.

If I'm not mistaken, thats Prenda's photo that has been attached with the article. Surely we didnt fine him after we delisted him???? Especially considering that according to reports he wasn't even there....

Happy to ley Murphy develop his career without the captainacy burden for a while. That pressure may have a detrimental affect at his age. Look more 2010-2011 when he has 80-100 games behind him. Be stupid to give it to him any earlier. Too good a player. 2008? Not a smart idea.

Whitnall will be captain for the reason is that he is our best on-field leader by a long way.

With the situation the club is in it is even more important to show leadership off the field. The entire episode is just plain P155 POOR !

I don't give a rats about the drinking or the alleged incident as they were leaving the pub. It is the stupidity of it all that leaves me gob smacked. Sorry but anyone who goes out of his way to say he wants the Top Job and then acts with this short sighted mentality has lost me.

The fact that Grigg and Jamieson were taken under the wing of the senior players and encouraged to stay out is more than a little disappointing. Sure they could have gone home but peer pressure from older players is hard to resist. The correct peer pressure that should be bought to bare is where the younger players are encouraged do the right thing by themselves and the club.

That's my main beef!

The incident itself i've turned a blind eye too, as with most footballers who end up in trouble whilst on a night out (i've witnessed it myself once with Tarrant trying to enjoy a night out with his lady-friend only to be bombbarded with tossers and jerks thinking they're king shit).

What i'm upset about most is similar to what Caz just mentioned. The fact that we had two youngsters out PAST the curfew time who were, as Caz said.....'Under the Wing' of a player who so badly wants the top job is a bit upseting.

All i can say is this.........................................KOUTA would never do such a thing!

He may not go down as the most sucsessfull Captain in our history but he is arguably our most honerable.

What wouldnt Kuota do go out and have a drink give me a break in his younger days even as Captain Kuota goes out after dark.

The only difference is they got caught. Not saying it is right but dont say never.
