I don't see any issue with a player having a life outside football. He might have lost a bit of sleep, but AFL players probably dont get up till 10am anyway, so probably still got his 7-8hours sleep.

Andy Roddick, Michael Jordan and heaps of other sports people gamble, oh hangon, i forgot this is the AFL and they can't have a life, they have to be tucked in bed by 10pm with their teddy bears. Thats due to them being role models and all kids look up to them, yeah right, the only role models should be your parents.

If he didnt give away two 50m penalties then there would be no relation to thurs night and he wouldnt be suspended

I hope Fev comes back, pulls his head in and sticks it up all you guys talking about trading him.

You don't lose a key forward because the coach is a twit and cant manage him. A new coach will come in and manage him properly.

Once Fev is gone you will be wishing we still had him, l guarantee that

exactly

Go on...........

What hypothetically will it say if he has played his last game for the club?

Now we are comparing him to Michael Jordan.

Soon he'll be Mahatma Ghandi, Jesus Christ and the prophet Muhammad rolled into one.

Get some perspective. The more people tell Fev he;s avictim, the more likely he is to dish up the crap he did on Saturday.

I think a lot of people are still missing the point

If only life really was as simplistic as you make it out to be...

1. Not all of us have two parents, but that's by the by. I take your point about role models, but happen to disagree with it.
2. How do you know it was only the coach who decided on this suspension. What if some of the players had a say, sack them all as well? The board? Swann? Get rid of anyone who made this decision, is that it?
3. Parkin and Brittain are also twits I assume.

If Fevola is upsetting team balance and not doing the right thing by the team then why shouldn't he be held accountable? These issues have been prevalent for most of Fev's football career, they didn't just magically appear after two 50m penalties last weekend. Life's not as simple as being tucked in bed with your teddy bear. I thought you knew that.

;)

The whole thing has been handled badly. They held a press conference to tell everyone Fev has been suspended due to his performance on Saturday and a couple other unknown things that they didnt devulge. I never heard of a club suspending a player, and calling a press conference about it.

All l got from it, is Pagan can't manage his players and isn't it apparent that after 2 games of losing by a total of 180pts, pagan has turned the focus onto Fev?

Instead of having a closed door meeting and discussing the issue with Fev, Pagan and Swann have given Fev an altimatum. Fev didn't apparently speak in the meeting. Now is that management? Dictating to a player terms n conditions? Rather then getting his thoughts about the issue?

Pagan should be sacked on the basis he has done nothing with the club in the regular season, no management skills and by the way Fev is acting, hes lost respect for the coach, as do most Carlton Members.

Get rid of Pagan and every one is happy. Carlton need a new coach and fresh gameplan.

If you don't change what your doing, then your going to keep getting what your getting till you change it.

Why has it been handled badly- They have given Fev 7 days to go out findif ant club is prepared to pay him his 400k a year and put up with his bullshit or come back and pull your head in .

the let the whole world know he is there for the taking if you want you can have him.

My bet is Fev will return with his tail between his legs and knuckle down for a while - It wont last long though

The club, from the board down should be commended on the whole Fev saga.

It is quite possible that he may snatch it and never represent the club again. He was given ample opportunity to explain his actions to Denis and Greg yesterday while they were discussing his attitude on the weekend.

This has culminated over the season, not just the Freo game. Fev chose not to utter a word and left the club.

The club and team may perform to capacity now that the negativity has been withdrawn from this weekends game?

Time will tell if this decision makes or breaks this season. I don't mean in a win loss scenario but in a team orientated balls up head start into 2008 and beyond!

Im not saying what he did on the weekend was positive and support it but suspending him before we play the bottom of the ladder Demons is a bit wrong.

I would suggest they should of done this, sat down and had a mutual one on one meeting, discussing the issues, and highlight the consequences if he breaks them. I bet you they dont know what Fev is thinking at all cos he didnt speak at the meeting!!. Instead they suspend him and now Carlton will lose on the weekend.

Well done on the people management.

Exactly Danny........

Who cares who kicks the bloody goals. As long as we are 'all' kicking to the same end.......

Fevola is a great full forward in an ordinary team. Can he handle not being the key focal point in a developing list?

That is the bigger question??

How do you know that they have not already sat down and discussed there concerns.

This has no doubt been raised over the last few years...

I wish my employer gave me a week off with pay :)

Good people management would have Fev playing this week. No people management means fev has a week off.

Basically it will be Fev goes or Pagan goes

Isn't it amazing 6 other clubs are already interested in Fev, l wonder why :)

The same reason clubs were interested in Nathan Brown, NAthan Thompson, John Hay, Acka and so on...........

He can play that is not the problem.

But can he play without the baggage?

And more importantly, can we afford to keep him playing for us?

How you know they have?
I doubt Fev had an issue last year when he won the Coleman.

I seriously don't see what the big deal is with Fev anyway. Yes it was wrong to give away 100M penalty.

But him having a go at the umpires is what every player in the league is doing with the soft touch free kicks. 9 out of 10 times fev does argue he does deserve a free kick but doesnt get it.

What is actually so bad that you should lose the best forward in the league for? Giving away a couple 50m penalties, telling the umpire he deservers a free? and most the time he does. What is the actual issue?

It doesnt look good yapping with the umpire but everyplayer is doing it this year.

When Fev is kicking 6 goals a game and talking to the umpires no one cares do they

Your passion or infatuation is commendable Fevo....

But he may have kicked his last goal for the Navy Blues....

More than likely, he will have 8 more games for his Carlton career.

Can you get your head around that?

I would suggest that coaches, MC members, CEOs, players have all sat Fev down and discusses the issues. He has had more last chances than anyone. But we repeatedly return to this situation. It hasnt worked.

Greg Swann isnt an idiot. Why should he repeat an action that has failed in the past.
What this does is give Fev responsibility for his future. He is to decide what he wants to do, rather than being told.
What that means is, if he decided to knuckle down, you'll see a different player. If he decides he wants out, that means one thing. He hasnt the courage or strength to continue.
I'm betting on the first option.
