Well done Campo on 11 years of excellent service to the club, hope you get your wish to play out your remaining years with the Blues.

He's been a terriffic player for the Blues and I can't believe anyone could suggest that any player who has played in the elite footy competition is in anyway a "downhill skier". Players who succeed at this level have done so through having real talent and hard work.

C'mon Synbad he's worth more than that, just not $400-600k!

Echo the calls on lpaying him forward. Much like a few of our guys at the moment, Campo has been played out of position for too long given an absence of real midfielders. He can be very damaging forward - anyone remember his 7 goal haul in the late 1990's?

He can easily play another 2 years and will be needed over that period given the quality and age of the squad. If he gets the chop a few youngsters may get a game before they deserve one, as there isn't anyone who deserves his spot. :D

Not getting involved in heavy traffic, waiting for someone else to feed him the ball, not being accountable & having to run as hard as others..........Campo has another 5 years left at least. Sign him over 5years @ $200Kpa. Heavily backload his contract so he earns $650K in his last year (2010) & wait for Synbad to explode!!!

Campo will sign no problem and he is a required player. Reckon he will sign for less than half his current alledged contract.

I agree Campo, well done, a true "Navy Blue".
He'll sign for around 300K and is worth it.

Campo is currently 5th in the AFL for kicks per game in 2005. Also 31st in the AFL in disposals per game.

You can say what you like about how he gets the kicks, but at least he gets them, and there are not too many players in the comp that can get more or get them to teammates as well. However, having said that his age his time in the middle should start to be reduced.

Would like to see him mainly as a HFF for the rest of his career to give some younger players a chance in the middle.

We really need to get rid of this bloke - he's a cheat! Is taking a place on our list that a young player can absorb. Is not worth any more than $200k-$250k per year. I do not like him nor his association with Hammil.

So if (like Dossa and Joe), we should imagine what he's on and then double it....will he be signing for half that, which is what he's on now???

If and when Campo does sign again, wont he be listed as a veteran??
If so is there any real difference if he gets 200K or 300K since only half that amount will affect our TPP?
Or do i, as usual, have all the facts completely wrong yet again?

I'm not a fan of the Campo bashing, remeber th efinal against Richmond in 2001? Stephen Sziller stomped on his ankles all day, he couldnt walk the next day, should hav3e snapped, but didnt, not a downhill skier. Not an in and under type either, but so fricken what. He is a Carlton great.

Campo's a 200+ game premiership player for the Carlton Football Club. That's a wonderful achievement for any league player and no one can take that away from him.
I do believe however that the time has come for a new culture to be bred amongst the playing group with Campo and certain others not being part of that group. The club and supporters should thank him for his efforts in the appropriate way and he should seek a fresh start at another club whether it be playing on or taking an assistant coaching role somewhere.

I'm expecting him to play out his career at Carlton but hopefully for an absolute maximum of $200K per game. I'd also like to see him played on a HFF or, failing that give him a tagging role each week and bust his nuts if he doesn't stick with it.

Organizing a trade would be difficult as no other club would be able to use the Vet's list and would be reluctant to pay what he'd demand to leave Carlton.

Oh, and for those that say Campo spends all his time floating around the backline getting easy kicks he is the leader at the club for goal and score assists so far this season. (that includes missing 2 games)

Mate, when we're on a roll can you ditch the stats that disprove what we're saying?

WTF $4400000 a season that will put a drain on the salary cap
