YES THAT IS CORRECT. LONG LIVE CHRIS BRYAN, WHO DID MORE TODAY THAN DELUCA DID ALL YEAR. WITH FRENCH TO COME BACK, AND SETANTA TO BE PROMOTED, HERES TO A BRIGHT FUTURE WITHOUT THE USELESS DELUCA. HE MAY LISTEN TO WHAT PAGAN SAYS, BUT HE CANT GET THE BALL. VFL PLAYER, and that is IT. WELL DONE BRYAN, you have done Carlton proud by getting deluca out of the side. now we are truly on the right path.

Did you notice that DeLuca was named in the best for the Ants today?
Probably not.

De Luca is too good, and our list is too poor, for De Luca not to make it. Obviously love to see him spend a summer working on his marking. But he'll be back!

Woeful post from an absolute moron. Sorry mods but this kid annoys the hell out of me, with his bitching and moaning.

I'll keep Deluca not having a great year like last year but if Rambo keeps him he can't be too bad ha ha Rambo hates most of those wimps. He is a big guy he should use a bit of muscle getting in the weights and play hard.

WE have to give Deluca another year...he isnt as developed as Bryan or as mature..I ahve been a supporter of Bryan playing all year and both he and Deluca have been murdered by a MC that doesnt have a clue about player development. Deluca should have been dropped weeks ago and then brought back into the team after finding form in the Bullants.I hope to have both Deluca and Bryan in the same team...Deluca will do very well with Bryan alternating in the ruck with French and letting Deluca play forward and have the ODD run on the ball....Deluca can play but isnt a NO1 ruckman...

Elwood the player development issue may very well be the biggest thing confronting this club.

Do we as a club manage our kids well? I am, beginning to fear the answer is no (STILL!!!!!!!!!!) but hope that's my stupidity and not failing of the club.

I didn't rate Deluca as highly as most did last year but I don't think he doesn't have a place in the team at all. There are/is other/another player/s that deserve to go first

Can we play De Luca, French and Bryan all in the same team?

I say yes!

French is our #1 ruckman, and when he comes back he should resume his duties. Bryan can rotate, with him and French can be the spareman in the hole, like he's done on a few occasions this year. De Luca a permanent forward, and can do all the forward ruck work.

De Luca looks more natural as a forward, and with Big Red, Fevola, Waite and De Luca it is full of potential.

Go Bryan, go French and GO DE LUCA!!!

Its the failing of the club....conservative selection policy's have haunted the club for years..Bryan is just another case of a player who has been held back too long...anyone with any idea about the game can see has has a degree of skill..maybe his attitude has been ordinary at times but when we are getting hammered week in and week out and have no talls to speak off and Bryan is wallowing in the two's and showing some form and only gets a game by default ie injury to French you have to ask questions about the MC. Deluca has been out of form for a while and has totally lost confidence...he can play and has skill too but needed a break in the twos to get some form back and self belief.

Dont get me started on Sentanta ..SHOULD HAVE BEEN PROMOTED AT THE END OF SEASON CULL LAST YEAR....clearly he has shown that he is ready and can play and needs senior games....

Hopefully the MC can see the light and introduce Blackwell, Russell and Hartlett when fit...kids make mistakes but they dont let you down through lack of effort. It also sends the message to older established players that the MC have balls and will make changes regardless of reputation.

People seem to forget that Deluca had an operation and did not start training before February. Same with TLO who now is starting to show his worth in the 2's. Missing a pre-season makes a huge difference.

Also... DeLuca came out and impressed all just like Bryan has... just like Walker did...

...then they dropped off a little.

Anyone who thinks Bryan will play that well every week in AFL is both kidding themselves and setting themselves up for a "NO MORE BRYAN EVER!" post down the track.

I know it's better for the guy to have played a blinder today than had no effect, but lets not go nuts. Similarly, you can't judge players like DeLuca (Davies?) on the little amount of games that they have played.

... awesome left foot kick on Bryan though :D

I like your style Elwood.Up front, and no doubt about what you meen.Scary thing is,with the big cleanout expected and big influx of youngsters,Pagan will be in control of there development. To think Johnny Worsfold just happened to be an assistant at our club not so long ago.

Cheers Mick...to say I get highly frustrated by the recruiting and selection decisions would be an understatement. If its not picking undersized schoolkids who like they have been living off fresh air only for a couple of years it not rewarding players with natural ability and showing some imagination by selecting them just based on a gut feeling that they can make it. When I see Prenda rucking and Bryan stuck in the twos it just worries me what is going on at the club...Chris Bryan was your man and I wouldnt be pissing in your pocket to say that you obviously know your footy and can pick real footballers...like I have said before..Bryan may not make it as a senior player but it wont be lack of talent that holds him back. It concerns me we miss so many naturally talented players like the
Sam Mitchells, Maloneys etc who to me look decent footballers from day one I see them and then if we do get one we let them wallow in the twos like Bryan has done. They didnt have enough courage to put Sentanta on the senior list at the end of last season and are paying for it now.....

Look forward to you giving us some more smokeys like Chris Bryan next draft time...
