I'd be more than happy if every player only got given 1 or 2 year contracts, though I'd hardly call three excessive.

Personal opinion 3 yr contracts are too long and are excessive all players should be on 2 yrs.

But u miss the point by splittin the hairs..IS CAMPEROLE OR ANY PLAYER ON THE LIST CURRENTLY WORTH 500 - 650 PER YR i especially when they are continually breaking even

No its Synbad..... :? *Gives you glasses to wear*

I agree with Deano .. this thread is bullshit... and Campo getting beaten by Mathews does not translate to a 650k a year player... thats what youre really trying to say isnt it Deano???

Campo is 8th in the league for inside 50's

If you want to talk cheap posessions why don't we all talk about the hailed saviour nick stevens. 20 odd posessions a game 18 from kicking to himself at the kick ins. :D (yeah i know hes top 10 in clearances but he plays a very similar cheap style to campo a lot of the time - perhaps its our game plan ?? )

I think the only difference is Stevens goes in harder for the ball... he has a better kick and runs harder covering more ground....he trains harder.. he takes the losses harder.. he doesnt get caught up in niggles..like Camo.. (Did you watch the 21 year old Luke Ball today???)... he also doesnt spend the whole game whingeing instead of working hard....apart from that theyre pretty similar...

From Saturday's game you will pick up Campo's worth from just one passage of play. It was in the last quarter when the swans were two goals up. The ball goes into Swans forward line, Bolton goes after the ball. Campo produces half speed chase, and lets Bolton beat him to the ball by about 5 metres. Bolton then screws the ball around the corner to Hall. Campo puts arms up in a half-smother type gesture (I've never seen a half-smother work yet). Ball works its way to Hall who marks between three Carlton players. Campo gives all three a serve about not going hard enough for the ball. Well the ball never would have been down there Campo if you had have given something like 100% in chasing and tackling Bolton.
Well sorry Campo, but I'm with Synbad. Every week I watch a supposed leader of the club put in half hearted nonsense efforts and setting the sort of example that I hope Walker et al never learn to follow. You can stay at Carlton if you have a $150k contract and promise never to give the kids a spray again, or you can go elsewhere and grind down some other club's culture instead.

Well if Matthews is a tagger, then he was thrashed by Campo. Funny how Campo kept going back to him and was always ball side.

Thought Campo was breaking even with Bolton ( even while being tagged during the 3rd by Couch) until the last ten minutes when he got away. Yes Bolton getting away to give the pass to Hall was poor, but level the same crititism to Bolton for allowing Campo to run down the ground unmanned to set up Teagues goal.

Always thought those contracts extensions were extended for an extra year for the same amount that was to be paid over the original contract.

Couldn't agree more Molly... I can begrudgingly accept the occasional skill error (everyone makes a mistake), getting sucked in by a 'Holland' (that's just a Campo's character trait), mouthing off at the umps (another trait - got a few of them hasn't he?) and even the running behind a player who has marked for a cheap kick (as this appears to be a part of the gameplan, though not terribly effective)... what is unforgivable in my book is a half hearted effort like you described 'cos there's a 95% chance that it won't make a difference.

Yes, I'm sure Roos will take Mathews to task over the "thrashing" Campo handed him in the first half.
Campo's 7 possessions must have been pure quality to Mathews 8.
Thrashing!

You should write kids books BM.
This whole thread is some of the best fiction I've come across.
I admire your commitment to the club and your passion for the players BM but this is taking it too far. :P

Why was Campo on the half back line?
Seriously our midfield is struggling in centre breaks, disposal, etc...yet we can afford to have Campo running off the half back line. Houlihan should also be in the thick of the action. At least these two can hit targets when delivering the ball.

Called it as I saw it BV. You have every right to disagree.
