Congratulations to the full back of the century on his elevation to the Hall of Fame.

No controvesies here lads - pure football genius, courage, go go gadget arms, match winning ability, versatility and off field charm.

No brainer.

Now for the third generation....

Awesome. Just awesome.

Gee, that'd be a night to attend.

One of the greatest forwards of all time is inducted and the Full Back of the Century is inducted.

Anyone know if Ablett turned up?

Sounded like it on SEN, Was saying something about him mentioning he was suffering depression.

Ankle injury in 92 kept his feet on the ground and made him the player he ended up becoming :D

Nah just caught the end of it but it sounded like he talked about it in a speech.

Ablett is also in the Team of the Century (he must also be regarded as one of the three best ever Interchange players....) I think the whole TotC are now in the Hall of Fame.

4th year without him, 2001 was his last year. Coincided with our fall down the ladder :(

How awesome does the CFC logo look on his jumper?!?!

However, I prefer SOS with the long sleeves than without.
Makes him look like the desperate defender we all love to love.

Carlton has been blessed with a production line of absolute champion key defenders which have been the rock which most of our Premierships since 1968 gave been based on: Goold, Southby, Doull, Perovic, Dean, Silvagni, rock solid, dependable for 35 years.

But in particular legendary defenders like Doull and Silvagni.

Unfortunately the line has finished with Silvagni - imagine the fast tracked development of Livingstone, Thornton and perhaps Norman if Silvagni was still around the backline.

We have been lucky to be able to have had Silvagni to fill Doull's shoes, and we should realise players like that dont come around too often, we have been blessed to be able to build a side around the likes of Doull and Silvagni for around 30 seasons of football (1972 to 2001).

Congratulations Stephen Silvagni - we certainly do miss you on the playing field.
