Let De luca be.

Please refer to the De Luca should stay thread I created and read the reasons why and others think he should.

Given so, if it is longish term then put him on the LTI list and promote someone.

Maybe Sentanta.

However, he is the obvious choice. Is he going too get game time if he plays, or will he be on the bench more.

I say let him sit out the season in the bullants, playing four quarters week in week out.

Is there a smokey who might be worth a punt.

Of our rookies is Smith worth a look just too see if he has something small too offer.

otherwise then go with Sentanta.

DeLuca is lucky he's injured as he would not get back into the team after what Chris Bryan has show a big man is capable of.

DeLuca has been one of our biggest dissappointments of 2005.

got a lot of mates though.
Andrew Walker, Heath Scotland, David Teague, Brendan Fevola to name just a few.

I actually think it's a big shame that ADL is out for 6. Now he would be dangerous given that we have Bryan to help out Barnaby. ADL could stay in the forward line and we would definitely stretch a few defences out there.

All 6 week injuries should default to 8 weeks to allow the Irish beast to add some senior appearances to his CV.

Archie, take some leave and have a break!

Shame for Archie he'll be ok just never seems to have recovered post missing pre-season.
Another major disappiontment is Trent Sporn, carried him with injuries and still looking like guy on Collo's "crossroads".

Crap post MCB.

Good luck to Archie, hope he recovers real soon. He's had a tough year, missed a lot of pre season with injury and now this.

Some posters should have consideration that missing a significant portion of pre season was going to impair his development this year and take this into account in assessing his performance this year.

IMHO if there is a Long Term Injury, Archie or anyone, the rookie to promote is Jessie Smith...this guy is a real footballer, and should not be lost to another club.

Does anyone know what the sitaution is at the end of the season with Rookies? Do we get first bite of the cherry to re-sign our rookies?

Carlton have the first option over our rookies. All rookies can be kept for 2 years, then if you want to keep them you need to promote them onto the senior list. This year is Setantas last year on the rookie list, and if we are to keep him, we need to promote him onto our senior list.

Just as an add-on, to keep them you could try to convince them to stay as a rookie for another year too. If they have a hard offer from someone else, it may be difficult to keep them, but that player has to decide whether they trust anyother club to use a draft or rookie selection on them.

Ouch.

He must have been favouring his non-broken foot, thus causing the resultant stress fractures. Poor guy.

Does anyone know if he's still an accountant? And if he still drives around in that beat up jalopy?
