Guess its a battle of who believe, and I understand and accept most will take Synbad's version of events.
But I heard today that the Blues and Scotty had agreed on a figure for next year already. I think the arrangement is to hold off until the end of the season and see if that figure should be inflated or lowered depending on performance.
Club "certain" of re-signing him when time comes.

Josh,

How does that contradict Synbad? In fact it just enhances what he has said: No offers from other clubs so I better accept what is coming my way from Carlton.
The only thing that would contradict what has been said is if you told us he will get a $400,000 - $500,000 a year contract.

jbee, Campo has publically said that he wishes to play out his career at Carlton so this may explain why there are no offers from other clubs.

Jonathon Brown said the same thing and it did not stop other clubs making huge offers. Has Campo really got a choice?
I hope he stays at market rates.

What interests me most, is the idea that Camporeale could be traded. I.e to Port for Salopek, Adelaide for whatever, etc. I don't know if this will happen, but if it did, we wouldn't be able to trade him if he had signed a contract this year. Heffernan rule.

The Heffernan rule is that we can't trade him without his permission I believe.

In regard to TPP, whatever the figure for Campo is you can halve it. This makes it a bargain for the Blues given it probably wouldn't exceed $250K(=$125).

It's also a good deal for Scotty in that Adelaide or the Power would have to include all $250K in the TPP and there's just no way he's worth it. We need Veterans on our list to write off the TPPs so I reckon that figure would make all parties happy chappies :)

Is close '$20000' close or $100000 close.... or is close '2 years' or '5 years' close?

So they've "agreed on a figure".
But they're waiting till the end of year so they can raise it or lower it. :?

There is no way that Campo is worth 300K.........I highly doubt that the club would agree to that

Even if we signed Campo on 150K, there's still Hamill, Goddard and Wells to keep the conversation going.

$200K a year seems reasonable. Probably a touch more than market value but slightly inflated to reward loyalty and commitment to the club (perhaps not on field all the time!!! :x ). I would almost be prepared to offer him $500K for 3 years considering that only $83K will be included in the TPP per year (veterans list)

Does this seem reasonable?

Campo could sign for base and match payments and he would still be hammered by some.

I know that last year Riccardi signed for $180k per year. ATM Riccardi is playng better albeit in a stronger team. $200k is more than adequate.
