Mav, I would generally agree but I can't see loss of a PS as an excuse for ADL dropping marks. He did it last year, he did it this year - its a real problem and until ADL fixes it, no excuse should be available to him.
Im really disappointed that you've gone against me!
I have to agree. Last year he juggled marks. This year he has juggled marks and dropped them cold.
Can we also please stop repeating this nonsense that Deluca is primarily a forward. That's crap. We didn't recruit a 202cm guy who can't mark as a forward, we recruited him to be a back-up for French in the ruck. He is PRIMARLY A RUCKMAN.
People peddle that forward nonsense because he has been, for the most part, a manifest failure in the role he was recuited for but people don't want to admit that because he's got so much potential because he's tall and agile (and should be so much better than he is)
Brad Fisher's left leg is more of a forward than DeLuca is but people cling to that game against Essendon* where Deluca kicked 3 goals and say "look, he's primarly a forward". That automatically qualifies him to use all the excuses our other forwards are entitled to use ("the delievery was crap"; "he was played out of position", "he's only 22 ... no, wait that's not a good one

"), and all of a sudden people forget that he gets smashed in the ruck and doesn't give us anything useful around the ground when he acutally rucks.
I'm not a Deluca hater, but I agree with Molsey that the guy is really a long way off. I really hope he works hard and he makes it but I also really wish people would stop overexaggeratting what he give the team offensively (14 goals from 32 games), and glossing over the things he was recruited to do that he's not particuarily good at.
