Welcome to a big second half of the year of Wolfister's Weekly one cent stats. Each year Wolfister Inc, the big blue office at the bottom end of town, has what we call the Brisbane Lions problem... do we include Fitzroy? Do we include the Bears? What do we do? Well, this year we've decided to do something different to the past (where I think we've always included everything)... this year we're just looking at the new franchise. The Brisbane Lions.

We've played the Lions 11 times for 6 wins (54.5%) at PM +66 - a record that was far more impressive before the last 3 games - each of which we've lost. Actually, this will be the 5th year in a row that we've played the Brisbane Lions only once in a year (again underlining the fair "it evens out over time" draw)! We've won 2 of our last 5 games (PM+66 - the wins were good!), and 5 of our last 10 (PM+45). This will be the first time we've played the Brisbane Lions at the Docklands, and only the second time we've played them away from Princes Park or the Gabba - the other clash was the 2000 semi final at the MCG, that we won by 82 points.

Carlton have played 105 Round 12 matches for 68 wins (64.8%) at PM+1107 - making Round 12 our 5th most successful round on record. We've won 4 of our last 5 (PM+102) and 7 of our last 10 (PM+94) - actually the only Round 12 match that we've lost in the last 5 years was the 1 point loss to the West Coast at Princes Park 2 years ago (there was no way that was a free against Hickmott!). We've played only once at the Docklands in Round 12, that was this time last year where we beat the Hawks by 2 goals.

June the 12th has been an averagely successful day for the Blue Boys, winning 9 of our 15 starts (60%) at PM+141 - making June 12 our 106th most successful playing day on record. We have won our last 3 June 12s, last year against the Hawks (the only other June 12 at the Docklands), 2000 against Geelong and 1994 against Melbourne. We've never played the Brisbane Lions on June 12.

Till next week, remember that 87% of statistics like Mondays... when they're public holidays.

Wolf out!
