Tonight I resigned myself winning outside the game.
(a) a Priority Pick
(b) Pick number '1' in the National Draft
(c) Pick number '1' in the Preseason Draft

I am tired of our form and I can see they are trying hard but we haven't got the 2nd tier group with the skill level required.

Until round 22, I will think of only one thing, Preseason and National Draft

Tonight I left 3/4 time and finally accepted we are not good enough...

...I did leave tonight telling a sheila that the Lions won their three premierships and should stop beeing cocky...I also told her that they will never win another Premiership, make another Grand Final or ever have as many Premierships as us...Cops got a bit concerned about my reaction to her...but i walked away laughing...

Thats an understatement lol we need talent and we need leadership badly

and yep i am resigned to the fact that we have to bottom out this year and get benefit for doing it......

Basically get rid of the recycled stuff which we have abundance of and keep those who put in or have shown that they can contribute .. get some good draft picks and a player in the PSD ... some trades .. i wont some leaders on the field who can spark up layers nad instill some discipline

and if we tweak and get rid of our large baggage and get some quality we can come out okay.

Hello Vintage,... you organised the trade fir Scotland personally.. give him a go. :P
Personally id keep Houla, Davies and Scotland..
Sporn and Johnno arent up to it.

There are a few others too....

Sporn too slow and not strong on his feet and cant take collision football.

Davies snapped a great goal tonight. I thought he kept his feet well in some of the contests. Houlihan did some nice things early on especially his 1-2 with Matty Lappin and then his kick to... was it Fev?

The intensity was quite good for the first half of the game... but obviously that don't win you a game of football. We just dropped away badly.

These guys would play their part in a better team. We just don't have enough stars (if any) in our side these days. It didn't help that Stevo had a dog of a night. I would still like to reserve judgement on these guys until the end of the season. A lot can happen between now and then. Let's make sure that we draft kids though. I would rather keep what we have instead of these nothing trades.

Id like to see Davies play in the guts .
He does have some mongrel in him... and if theres is one thing we lack its mongrel.

Good to see Walker gave it to Akka.. physically , verbally and on the park...!!!

Definitely need another class ruckman. Got absolutely belted in the middle and around the ground tonight. 45 hitouts to 14

Scotland is the epitomy of downhill skiing and he constantly runs forward to receive like Houligan when there no chance of being poleaxed.

Check out talent to your left and remember his face as he could be in Navy Blue next year with Mitchel Clark

See i dont think Scotland was like that last year... its a tone thing...

Players look to their peers and patterns evolve according to whats going on around you.

We have team of down hill skiiers now cos we dont have much leadership.

I think Scotland willo do better next year!!!

I wouldnt chuck out the baby with the bathwater...

Navy One couldnt agree more i be keen to see how Bryan and French work in tandem as i think Bryan maybe worth perservering with he makes a decent back up ruck and well his kicking ... one of our only players who can kick it long accurate and hit a target. i reckon theyshould play him around the ground so that when ever half our players get the ball give it to him to dispose of it maybe we may be bale to hit more targets.

I reckon in last years draft we chased the wrong ruckman we should have chased Acland not Nobel he was missed in the draft by most clubs and Saints got him for nothing. And he has ben pretty good especially around the ground for the Saints

I find it strange that in a "Blues need talent" thread people are calling for Houlihan's head. Talent is one thing that Houlihan does have stacks of. Sure he's not the hardest bloke going around, but he's no softer than a certain Craig Bradley that ran around in a Carlton jumper for years.

I loved Walker's game tonight. He is really learning from the best playing on guys like McLeod and Akermanis. He is developing well.

We can't afford to get rid of skilled players like Scotland even if he only plays one way. I'd stick with Davies also because he can get in there and find the footy and rarely goes MIA like Wiggins or Simpson.
Our midfield was much more competitive today with Johnson and Davies going in hard at the packs.

Walker is one player wo will have leadership qualities.
He is ultra comp[etitive and still needs to build on his confidence.

No worries with AW.

More of those please......

Bradley was a champion with exquisite skills who generally always delivered well to a team-mate further up the ground. Houlihan turns the ball over too much for my liking. He is just a good-ordinary player at the moment. However, that is better than most.

Yep and what was Walks Synbad ... a second rounder somthin we have not had for many years and espeically when we should have had 4-6 of them in the last 3 years we have only had one ... and i say that cause we should have had them where we ended up on the ladder for 2 out of 3 years but only got 1

actually even more daming in 3 years i think we have had 2 picks in the top 20 correct me if i am wrong ( pick 2 Walker / Pick 9 Russell)

And thats 2 picks when we have been 2nd last / Last and 10th lol that kind of sums it all up.
