I for one have had enough of the lack of disicpline of Campo.. he gave too many free kicks away mouthed off continuously ... i reckon mised more targets than he hit. we cant have him guiding our kids with his lack of discipline. A leader / captain or VC have to be a good influence on the troops ... show hard efforts let there game do the talking and encourage the kids around him.. not have someone mouthing off at umpires ... players ... giving away silly free kicks ect i had enough strip of captaincy stick him in the forward pocket .. if he keeps being undiciplined chuck him into the maggoos

Couldn't agree more. He was pathetic to put it nicely tonight. I use to love Camporeale, but the past two years he has only looked for cheap kicks and stats in my opinion, whether this is Pagan's fault asking him to change his role I'm not sure, but I want to see the free running, attacking Campo back in action.

Remove the responsibility from Campo and send to the HFF.

Campo should play VFL next week, sick to death of his soft **** approach to the contested football.

Thought he did really well tonight,

Im waiting for BM to ANALyse his stats and game for us...

Look Stevsns was as bad if not worse tonight.. but Stevo started the season strongly and has fallen away....

Look at my Stephen Powell thread in the trade section and i predicted that...

Its about setting the tone...

Stevens was the only one running in the first few games... if noone else is doing it you end up just following the herd.

its more than just last two years i reckon he is being a negative influence on the kids possibly even Stevens and the whole group .... his constant arguing with umpires .. oppostion players kick it to me attitude and continually giving away frees i reckon is the worst example we could have on the field ..

When was campo a good player which he was ... when he was surrounded by an abundance of talent could run free as he had the fifth midfielder on him ect .... he reminds me a bit of Headland who plays well with lots of talent around him ... only thing is headland dosnt give away fres or remonstrate with everyone on the ground...

i reckon we would prob play better if he was himself disciplined and chucked into the seconds... least it is worth a test to see how the rest of the players perform ... maybe sends a message as well

The odd thing is that in Denis' media interviews Campo nearly always gets a mention, and a positive mention at that.

I rem even when Campo and Whits was appointed Campo was upset that he wasnt the clear second inline to get the VC by himself so that he could be the match day captain if Kouta was out .. but i reckon Denis should just strip him of the VC send him a message .... and relieve him of the responsibility ... we dont want our kids to adopt his bad habits

Campo was disgracefully weak tonight and Kouta (waiting for the resultant firestorm) was not much better.

I thought Kouta did pretty well.
I really dont think he is captaincy material though.
We dont have a real Captain... Kouta is a champion !!!
One of the greatest players the club ever had.. One of the greatest ever in the VFL/AFL... and a great bloke.

But he isnt a Captain in the true sense of the word...and he gets F/A help by his deputies.

I think we have to get one in or develop one very quickly.... or were fupped!!!!

Time to give Waitey the captaincy. He gives us 110% everytime he puts on a carlton jumper

Kouta is a type of captain who can only lead by example he hasn't got that leadership "chutzpa" that a Ted Whitten, Wayne Carey or Stephen Kernahan have. At the moment his example is not good enough and his finishing work tonight after he won the hard ball was not what was required or what he is normally capable of - thats why I was very disappointed with him tonight.

Kouta is a one-dimensional player now and is only at his best in the middle or on the ball. Where his upperbody strength allows him to brush past tacklers and dish off the ball. The old kouta circa 2000 is dead and buried and his body is slowing failing him hence he doesn't have the leg strength he used to. He just can't leap for the marks like he used or kick the goals from 50 on the run.Which due to his lack of power as a result of all the knee surgery he's had and that cyst which must be a nagging injury.

Next year we may see a similar sudden decline to Sticks in 1997, when Kouta replaced him as the leading goalkicker for the first time in 11 years.

Well the only player on our list who i think could be captain at this stage is Stevens even though people may have a go at me i reckon he would do well with the responsability ... Whits would have been the obvious choice if he worked harder on himself and i guess last 2 games he is good but his major weekness is himself not that he cant be a good captain ... T-Bird and Waite should be in Leadershipo and groomed for the future is we havne no better options..

And yep Kouta is and always will be a champion but a Captain he is not IE look at who makes a good Captian... Voss / J Brown / Ricuito Cousins ect .. In the Past for the Blues .. Sticks of course .. Makay would have been good if he was given the job earlier

ahhh... so that is what real leadership is about

at least you were able to actually state that stevens was probably worse than campo tonight. All I've seen in other threads are excuses for stevens poor game, when in all reality he has been poor for most of the season (particularly skill wise)
