......Livo joined TBird on the sidelines after Rnd 1 and IMO ruined the structure of the whole side which inturn exposed our lack of depth which inturn affected the players confidence when they were forced to play out of position which they were not good enough for or ready for.

When did everyone else think we were doomed?

Bingo....
it would be good to see a decent structure take the park....but we have that now!
Bring on the break and sort out the niggles and injuries.

Forget the seson...let's see who want to be here in 2006

Two wins from the next 10......Collingwood and Essendon*...that's all I ask

I was actually really worried when a few players were quoted as saying:

"In the last six or seven years, the team that has won the Wizard Cup's had a good year."

Some were even making quotes about Wiz GF winners making the top 4 for the last few years.

As soon as that was said, I was worried.

To me that is the wrong sort of mindset, expecting success not because you are going to try hard to get success but because event A happened which means event B is meant to happen.

The week leading up to the 1st round we copped a heap of good press due to our finish to 2004 and the Wiz Cup win.
Every time I picked up a paper it was a Carlton good news story. The real season had not started! Thought we were in trouble then.

The thumping by Richmond caused a complete loss of confidence throughout the whole side and it will take a long time to get that back.

Our season was over when we had no luck at the pre-season draft or whatever it is called.

a lack of depth has been our problem for some years and on the back of a healthy 10 wins in 2004, we failed to add anything substantial to our stocks.

It was always clear that our midfield was on the nose. Unfortunately we were only able to add Chambers to that (unkown quantity) and Russell. I guess Russell requires development from his form in the 2's and time to settle into Melbourne.

The Wiz cup should only have been seen as a financial coup for us. We generated some good cash. Other than that, it was never going to be a true reflection of where we were at.

Pagan has already achieved what he has wanted to in 2005

He Got $$$ in the wizzer club and the start to the season the Blues needed

He got members and Sponsers on board due to the over achievment of 2004 and the wizzer cup so Members signed up

He got his coach renewal based on the the above factors and has a long term plan

If we bottoms out this year though will be bad on his reocrd he will finally have access to the best talent available .

This year is over if we bottom out and then 2006 the slate is clean and we can hopefully bounce out like the Tigers did this year

And i will view the rest of the year Like Pagan See who stands up on the recycled players i reckon he will wield a hefty Axe when he gets chance to inject some talent.

See the Bullants get success and allow our kids to get experience in a wining team (Includes the Irish Connection as well)

And just look forward to a brighter better 2006 with some foundations in place :)

I thought our season was over after the collingwood game. They had heaps of injuries and we didn't and we had 2 interstate games coming up. After the Collingwood game, i thought we were shot. Then the thumping by Richmond was a nail in the coffin

Round 1 was the defining moment . We went in without thorton and lost Livo . Rocca then ran amuck and it was game over. But one of the more significant things that happen was they played that loose man in defence who stood in front of Fev and Lance . Pagan never manned this guy up and every team has done it to us every game and he still refuses to man this guy up. It is destroying Fevola and Whitnal they may get a 1/4 here and there where this tactic is not employed but as soon as they start to dominate he is wacked in there and its game over.

But yes yes its the draft penalties that are hurting us its not Denis

Hey is there a skip button so we can just flip of his posts? I mean how many times does he have to post its all pagan's fault? Shit I'd hate to see you and synbad in a room together - talk about boring!!!! But hell at least i sometimes agree with Synbad.

When Thornton limped off and ended up on crutches at the end of the

Wizard cup gf that was a crucial blow since then it has been suspensions and injuries to players

but hopefully on a brighter note Betts Walker Bryan Waite have been the positives

i thought blackwell starred in pre season what has happened with him time to give him a go and Russell

I have a feeling The kids like Russel / Hartlett / Raso / Blackers / J smith are all ear marked for the 2006 Plan i think Pagan is planing for 2006

You can chuck Santanta in tha mix .. Let them develope like Waite did build up there bodies and get 100 Minute Game time so they can be ready for 2006

Our season is already over all Pagan is doing now is setting up 2006 and finding our who in our 2004 list and trades stands up for what he wants in 2006 so many of the players playing Senior at moment are playing for there future the above kids are all safe and will be introduced in 2006 or maybe late 2005 depending on how many wins we have lol
