He still has a hope if he turns his attitude around.
They know he is talented enough to play AFL football.. but he needs to show that he wants it... not many weeks o impress Karl.. so get to it..

He's been a disappointment this year I'm sorry to say. He showed some brilliant glimpses in 2004 and one was excited to see his development continue, but... :(

Maybe we need to get Karl back on the eccies.....

1. Now we're halfway gone I'd like to see more kids played in rotation to get some experience before next year.

2. I'd like to see us make opposition teams 'earn it' more. We seem to have got reasonably soft in attack on the ball and the ball carrier in tackles, bumps etc. It was a trait of Pagan's north teams that they were hard at the ball and if we don't have the ball, hard at the player with the ball. That's something that can be reinstilled and will do us good in developing players for next year.

I don't mind losing but I want them to earn it. It also means a bit of considered aggro, sticking up for team mates and collaring blokes when they've marked etc to know we are there.

3. play more kids.

4. pick KPP in the draft

agree with a lot of The Prez's comments, although I thought Kouta was clearly our best. But DP needs to coach for the future. Unless he has totally given up on players, then give them a go. Put Simmo in and tell him he will be on the ground 80% of the time for the next 3 or 4 games, see what happens. Try Prenda at CHF as a rough and tumble comptetitor. Experiment. Think up some strategies, set plays. Play players in other positions to see how they go. Give Livo a run up forward so he can build his confidence by getting the ball and snagging a goal. Coach for the furture and try and bring some confidence to the group. Don't play injured players. Forget the draft penalties, DP needs to take his own advice and stop looking in the rearview mirror.

actually like prenda on the ball, he seems our only "midfielder" and i use the term midfielder very loosely to get boot to ball straight away.

I'd sit back, relax and spend my $600,000 a year on a property portfolio, and build it up over the next 2 years.

Then, with all those draft picks, I would know that even a goon like Grant Thomas could play finals footy, so I would do the same in 2 years time.

That is part of the problem

Whenever we got a hard ball get, we just kicked and hoped someone would mark it. When Brisbane won the hard ball, they worked it by handball out of the pack to someone such as Aker or Corrie who had the time and skill to deliver it forward

We just blaze away after winning a clearence

If I were Denis I'd do the following:

-Tell players like Bentick and Simpson that there are ten rounds of footy left. I'd say to them that no matter what happens we're going to play you for at least the next six weeks starting this week. I'd tell them that you're going to be playing in the midfield (Bentick) and on a wing (Simpson) and let's see how you go.

-I'd play Justin Davies in the midfield and see what he can offer us. When I say play in the midfield I don't mean short bursts I mean the majority of matches. Tell him to follow the ball.

-I would stop saying then that we don't have any other midfield options apart from Stevens, Camporeale and Kouta. We have the options but we don't use them! Players like Bentick, Johnson, Bannister, Houlihan, Simpson, Prendergast, Davies even Carrazzo or Russell etc can all run though the midfield, relieving players like Kouta who has played literally 99% of possible gametime this season. No these players aren't going to win you premierships but let's try them and see how we go. We need to give players like Stevens and Kouta a break but we need to stop being scared to do so! We drew in Port Adelaide without Campo and Scotland and with little influence from Stevens. Let's put the Wiggins's, Bentick's et al through through the middle! We have nothing to lose.

-I would bring in Karl Norman for another go. No he doesn't probably deserve it but he's a player that could potentially if he got his head right be important for us down the track. Tell him we're going to play you in defence for the rest of the season no matter what and that your future probably rests on these 10 games.

-I wouldn't rush back Brad Fisher, I'd wait until at least after the break (which seems inevitable anyway).

-I'd have Lance Whitnall not move out of the forward half of the ground unless specifically instructed to do so.

Id do what molesy said too....
I saw a ripper midfielder on Saturday.. the next Luke Ball..

Seeing were shit and we dont have to tank to come last .. Lets tank next year and get him...

(Selwood.. in the Luke Ball mould but then youd have to add Nigel Lappin and a bit of Andy Goodwin- should go number 1 next year unless that Leroy Jetta dude is even better....)

(Hey this tanking for guns is pretty addictive eh?) :D

Hmmmmmmmmmm....and Brett Deledio comes out of contract too...

I think the plan is to lose for seven years straight and then win every game for two years straight!

Okay, damn I was hoping for at least three years straight? But then if we won every game for three years straight we'd probably have to lose all games for the next ten years in any case.
