Dropping Livingston makes sense if the dogs go small as does adding pace, but Simpson is a dud.It would have made more sense to bring in Russell and see how he goes than to again try Simpson. Simpson and Sporn can dominate the VFL but just aren't up to the task of playing AFL.
But Livingston should still be in the 22 and would have to be wondering what the hell he has done wrong.

Can't believe they've dropped Livo?!?!?!

Small forward line or not, he'd done enough to stay in. Don't agree at all with the MC, but what the hell would I know?

I know the teams aren't finalised but if Kouta spends the night in the backline when Livo could I will be very dissappointed especially if Livo isn't injured.

The whole team line up looks totally F@%&#!.

The teams NEVER line up as they appear in the papers.

Considering a forward line of Eagleton, Bandy, Murphy, Johnson, Robbins, Smith I think leaving Livo out is a good option especially considering Bandy would be unlikely to play deep. Whats the point of having Livo in if hes just going to sit on the bench the whole night.

Teague being dropped should be a surprise to no one who has watched games recently as his form has been terrible and even with Denis trying him in the midfield he hasnt been able to find the ball.

LIVO out....... thank God! I just feel sorry for the Bullants. He'll probably play full back and still get toweled by sum 19 year old.

but why did livo have to be dropped?

why not give him a run at CHF and force THEM to deal with it? why don't WE try to create a mismatch?

why are we SUDDENLY reactive with team selection and putting a team on the basis of how another team lines up?

didn't seem to do it when facing richmond! the best our MC could come up with on that day was matching up stafford with teague!!

don't get me wrong, i think pagan will be an important asset for us down the track, but his coaching performance since winning the wizzer hasn't been the best!!

perhaps it's the benefit of not having any expectation or responsibility that comes from being in a settled key position!!

he performs "roles" .... that's a good gig these days!!!

Livo's omission has got me completely stuffed! After years of bad luck with injury and limited opportunity, he finally begins to show that he does deserve to wear the CFC... only to be dropped for no apparent reason.

I can appreciate that the Bulldogs play a small forward line, but if Luke is to be our full back for the next 5-10 years, surely he will need to learn play on a variety of forwards? Could you imagine the Dons dropping Fletcher for this one! At the very least, his recent efforts warrant that he get first crack at Johnson. If it doesn't work, give him CHB or put him forward and stretch the Dogs defence, but why drop a kid who is finally showing the best form of his short career? That'll do wonders for the confidence.

May as well get Mick Martyn to 400 if we are going to pull this shit!

every team this year has done well against brisbane by stacking their side with pace and going small up forward, basically taking brisbane out of their comfort zone.

so what did we do?? structured up just how brisbane likes it, even getting together the slowest, most lumbering midfield we could think of!

so all of a sudden now we're structuring up in reaction to other teams???

Livo starts to come good and they give him the lemonade and sarse. The place is starting to resemble an asylum.Total crap.Pagan forever bemoaned livo s absence as having a bad affect on structure and i believed him.Made sense. He comes back, does reasoably well, and gets the flick. What the eff is going on.

Chambers naming in the best for the Bullants last week was an absolute joke.

Some good reasoning as to why Livo was dropped for this particular game - however as Zippy pointed out, if Kouta is named at CHB, Livo's omission becomes a tad confusing.....especially as has been shown in the couple of forays down back this year, Kouta hasn't got a clue when stationed in the backline nowadays.

Teague had to go, been in dog-awful form and way, way too many goals being kicked on him.

If anyone thought Pagan tries to tank - this is proof that he doesnt. He's picked the best horses for courses team he can.

The match committee are trying to be 'smart' about playing in Darwin, and have dropped two slow blokes for two fast blokes against a short team. It might work, might not - who cares? Results are irrelevant now. Feel sorry for Teague, he's been thrown to the wolves in matchups this year.

And...Geez that Kade Simpson's a good player. We have to play in 40 degree heat and 100% humidity for him to get a game. In fact, he might be hoping we move up to Darwin permanently - he'd be a regular.

This is [REDACTED]!

A guy works his ass off for the team, does the little things, covers everyone else's man, plays on guys 6 inches taller than him, busts his ass, puts his body on the line each and every week, becomes the third man at contests consistently.....and we drop him because he gets caught out when covering for other guys and goals kicked on him because he's simply outmatched by taller opponants.

What kind of message does this send?

I've been positive all season, supported the team, backed the players, stuck up for the younger guys, not criticised the coaches, the MC...anyone and here I am amazed that we've droppa guy for covering for the slack ass pricks in out team.
