Well, here it is, weekend sport in the Herald Sun:

Page 40

PAY CUT FOR CAMPO

- Carlton quietly gone too work on securing Campo on a most likely 2 year deal.

- Manager hopeful of something done before seasons end (what a waste of print).

Page 40 - Fevola

- " a resolution to the talks with Fevola appears close".

- "It is understood the blues, mindful of the marketablility of the full forward, are prepared to offer a package of about $500,00 per year".

Fevola doens't deserve a contract of $500 000. The inconsistency of his attitude deserves $300 000 tops, with market presure I could see him getting $400 000, but $500 000 isn't deserved on his record and unfulfilled potential.

2 year deal for Camporeale

He won't get any offers elsewhere...give him 1 year and ask him to stand up in the leadership stakes and least be a good example.

The $500000 is for the $800000 worth of merchandise he sells...

They mentioned the word "package" so I'd assume there is a large marketing component to it. Probably a playing contract of $350K to $400K and the rest comes from the marketing bucket.

If he kicks 70+ goals and gets $500,000 thats fine. It has just got to be performanced based to get that amount of money.

imagine how many 2's and 5's have been sold for gurnseys in the last 3-4 years....on wizard cup form he is undoubtedly a $500,000 player.....i think once he signs you will see a significant performance improvement....ive said it all along...this contract is the monkey on his back....he will be back to his good old self when he signs on...

500K is too much for a forward that is dependent on delivery to kick a bag and occasionally gets the sooks. 450K is closer to what he deserves and he still the owes the club.

Refer to the $50,000 worth of "2"s and "5"s he sells and don't worry about it.

There is something right about the world when you go to an Auskick morning and see a "plethora" of Carlton Jumpers with "25" on the back - and then you go home and put on your 1970 Grand Final DVD.

The 72 dvd is better and the best game of footy played unlike the basketball the AFL is today.

Fev is the number 1 in merchandise sales but still isn't worth 500K for a leading forward.

Carlton kicked 28.9 - 177 in the 1972 GF.

Jezza, Walls and Nicholls kicked 19 goals between them or something. Good fun that :)

I've got both and i watch them all the time...shows you the dearth of champions we have at the moment.

Under the Marxist AFL structure you are not allowed too many champions on your list anymore.

That's what makes the Wizard Cup the most important trophy on the calendar.

Fev 350k plus 100k merchandising and is worth more.
Our only real talent at the moment.

If Campo gets a 2 year deal he can thank his co South Australian business partner...it would be a disgrace!!!!!!
