Do me a favour Dennis. When you have a video review of the game this week, play one particular incident over and over and over till the boys get a migraine.Third quarter,Skinny takes the kickout, simple fluff straight to Jordan McMahon thirty metres out.McMahon duely takes the gift and sends it straight back over Skinnys head Goal.Pretty sloppy Skinny, and you aint had the best of years.Big deal you might ask.Every one makes mistakes.

The totally sickening part for me was that Skinny was left there like a shag on a rock made to feel like a piece of shit.Corey McGrath was the only one who went to him to show any type of support.Totally as disgusting thing as i have witnessed from a Carlton side.I jumped out of my seat and kept screaming GET OVER TO HIM..........GET OVER TO HIM

We have had some good and bad sides over the years. We have had guns and also rans.We have had plenty of flawed characters around the place.Despite all these shortcomings,we have had unity and solidarity. When you ran on the ground in the old dark navy blue, you took the field as one.One in,all in.You were never alone.

And that sickening example of lack of solidarity said a lot about where we are.

Our good pal Synbad incessantly harps on about leadership to the point of tedium.I have refused to believe that could happen at Carlton.Sadly,it seems i have had my head in the sand.Until this issue is adressed,we are going nowhere.Looks like The Big Sinner is on the money again.

Likewise when Bryan bagged his first AFL goal, nobody seemed to give a stuff. :|

I bloody well hope that's what they're doing, 'cause if not.....

And Mickstar - I agree. It's been happening slowly all season, and we have now hit rock bottom. These guys are plying like individuals, not a team, no enthusiasm, or care for their mates.

unless the break is used wisely, we will not win again this year (yeah, I know that's a good thing  ).

Shame, Carlton, shame.

i expect a big bonding trip before the season starts...a bit like last season for the hawks...(though, it doesnt look like kakoda worked for them)

i think the club should organise some sort of movie which holds inspiring GF wins and moments in carlton history to give the players an inspiring boost before the season...it would give me a boost...and im not even playing...

They shouldn't need footage to inspire them.

The guernsey that they wear should inspire them.

Trouble is 3 quarters of our list aren't Carlton born and bred.

Tell me how?

They need to look deep inside themselves and have a look at each other to inspire themselves.

Chris Bryan should have been mobbed last night when he kicked his first goal in AFL footy. Sure the game was probably already over, but it's those little things that spur each other on.

If one person does something effective and is told about it, he feels good about himself and his confidence goes up. That then spreads throughout the team and the team lifts.

THAT'S inspiration.

You can't get that from some video.

i get it every time i see that @#$%&! membership ad!!! you know why...because when i see that short little package it sparks a whole reel of memories that flash through my head...i remember the 8 articles written in the heraldsun on the same topic...!!! i remember a determined and motivated midfield running fluently from half back and hitting targets on the chest....i remember believing that we were going forward...

i package of highlights....or a package of the whole pride and tradition they share at carlton would surely make them want to play for the jumper...it would inspire them to do the best they could considering the proud history they just witnessed with their very eyes...

if a passionate video package of our history cant inspire them/ motivate them then whats the point of playing footy?? they were all kids once...they all imitated their favourite players as we do...! they all dreamt that they would one day win a grandfinal after the siren....they all play because there is something insise them that speaks up when it is tickled...

a video of our proud club would surely give them that tickle...and if it didnt...then they mustnt be able to cry in times of pain eiher....because surely..if it is done well enough..a video with soooo much history being able to go into would be inspiring just as the membership ad was to me...

sorry phoenix...but i think it would work....

I see your point.

However, what do you think they would have been shown before the last game at Optus Oval?

And what was the end result?

the end result was a motivated nick stevens slamming the ball into the ground because he couldnt fullfill what he was motivated/inspired to do....

Seven - and for the most part, ordinary losses in a row......it's taking it's toll on us as supporters (i.e. our passion for the Club hasn't diminished, but our passion for season 2005 certainly has), it's gotta be taking it's toll on the playing group who would know full well that they're arguably the worst playing group in the AFL with little to play for. I daresay some would know that they're fate is already sealed, others would be going through the same dreaded motions as they have done so for the previous 3 years.....the year is now largely a write-off for most of them and I reckon it's not gonna be the first or last time we see player reactions.....or lack thereof, that disappoint us.

Bollocks.

I'm sorry, but I don't accept that for one minute.
You were satisified with an honourable loss at the last game at Optus Oval? The home of so many Carlton greats and their respective heroics and memories?

My point is, no video can inspire anyone.
They have to want to do it themselves.
For themselves, for their team mates, for Denis, but more importantly for themselves.

If the players that ran out that day at Optus Oval against Melbourne, couldn't mentally get themselves up to win that game, then they could never get themselves up.

And it's showing at the moment.
From all reports, it showed last night and has been sticking out like dogs balls for awhile now.
There is no hunger, drive or emotion in the team anymore.
It left us the minute the siren went after the Wizard Cup.

As much as I hate to say this, basically there is no leadership. Synbad is right. There is nobody out there eating raw meat and slamming somebody to get the others going. What do you reckon Wayne Johnson, Greg Williams, Stephen Kernahan, SOS would have done if they were playing last night. 1/2 of our side would of been more scared of letting them down than anything the opposition could deal out. Johnno and Diesel would probably have broken somebody's jaw behind play out of frustration and copped 5 weeks for it. But they might have gotten a message across to some of those soft shites that I watched last night.

Forget the top rated kid in next years draft, lets just draft a prop forward from the Wallabies with the express mission to fire these "netball gussets" up, cause a bit of carnage and get the whole lot going or else break a few nancy boys at training. How far away are Wayne Harmes' kid and Wayne Johnstone's kid, hopefully we can get some angry Genes back into the club through the F/S.

You look at the TOP teams... and when something isnt going right a good player will take it upon himself to LEAD... he might kick a special goal (Hird) or he might crash a few bodies (Voss Riccuito Pickett Brown) but what do ours do exactly'????.... well hold their hips.. point at younger players to do something....pretend theyre doing something valuable...
These players have to go... its not good enough.... theyve dragged the club down to a level thats never been hit before by a Carlton team...

Start again!!!!

Do it right.....!!!
