Many of us think that there needs to be wholesale changes to the list/team for the future and there have been many theories as to how to fix the list/team. We can only wonder what Denis and the MC are thinking, but you can almost guarantee that they are planning for the future now. I thought that I would follow up on the raft of threads devoted to this subject with some possible solutions.

If the predictions from my "The List from 2003-2006", "MIA" and "Pago Pago" posts eventuate, then we are going to acquire: at least 1 decent player in the trade period, 1 quality player in the Pre Season Draft, at least 2 ready to play 18 year olds in the National Draft and upgrade a rookie or two as well as blood some of last years draft selections.

I really believe that is the way it will all pan out. In fact, I think that about one third of our best side will be made up of players not exposed or even at the club yet. So its time to have a crack at how it might look. We do have some real quality on our list, just not enough depth. NB: New to the side in bold.

I reckon that’s a pretty good side. Height, speed, strength and plenty of guts. All ingredients for a successful era. Go through those that I couldn’t squeeze in too. Plenty of depth there. What think you?

we haven't got depth, and another draft will not fix it

Synbad, we will never be [REDACTED] if we draft kids with our 1st and 2nd round picks (wherever those picks are).

You are obsessed by the numbers, but it is the process that matters.

Drafting kids and developing them is what we should have been doing for 10+ years. We are only 2 years in to the process.

The process is in place. If our recruiting team is up to the task they will give the coaching staff something to work with. Whether they are pick 1's or pick 8's it does not matter. The list will be built by drafting and developing youth.

Last five years is too early to determine the players they will become, how about the five years before that (1995-1999 drafts).
