How long will it take for us to be a truly competitive team?

When you say truly competitive do you mean finals challenger or premiership threat?

Five years...we need to be on the way up and meeting todays teams/players who pump us on the way down.....the dominant teams should be us the Hawks, Tigers, Collingwood....teams who are getting the draft picks now......the Ports/Tredrae..WCoast/Judd should be on the way down....

At least 5 years away, when next years draftees are starting to hit their straps.(as long as we don't draft more Sporns, Wiggos and Livos.)

Competitive we can be in the short term but finals contenders we will atleast need 3 to 4 years. Depending on how we go in the pre season, national drafts and depending on how hard the players push them selves over the pre season I think we could repeat what we did last year. I think 10 wins should be our goal for next year.

If we have two fantastic trading/drafting periods it could be 2007, if just normal 2008, if average 2009

I cannot see us playing Finals football (competitivley that is) till 2007, 2008.

by that stage, Waite, Walker and Carrazzo will be feared players of the comp.

Although now is the time i start wording my REAL fears.............

you see, to me this is all to familiar.

I only became a Carlton supporter in 1996 because of my dad and my bro. Before that, i was a Fitzroy supporter. Brisbane is not Fitzroy so i decided to support my 2nd favourite club - Carlton! (don't regret it for a moment, as well as brisbane have been, it ain't Fitzroy!)

Not only that, i was a big Carlton Soccer supporter too untill knob head Peter Jess stuffed up and sent them under too.

Am i bad luck or what???????

Anyway, back to the point.

Clearly the AFL hates us, and with the constant talk of a new team in Sydney within the next 3 or 4 years, plus how bad we are financially, do you see it as a possibility?

There's more chance of the pope converting to buddhism than carlton moving to Sydney

79V I am at a loss, the Dogs have Cooney, Griffin and Ray, and still look shite to me, best case we get two picks at years end.
Really bleek period ahead but we'll be back just not ready to say when.
You can book the Bali trip in September, for a few years mate.
