Expect Collo to come out about our predicament in the papers tomorrow.
Will talk about going very hard for a top-line uncontracted player.
Confirms there's room in the cap with Camp and Lance out of contract and Beaumont and McKernan payments to end (thank %$#%$#%$).
Says we need gun youngsters but won't rule out continuing to look at recycled players.
Says supporters have to realise we're looking at three years at least until we're a chance for eight again.
No quick fixes. Last year and Wizzy Cup an aberration.
Says Fev and Lance are wanted players ... if the price is right.
All fairly predictable, really.

"Tanks" for the info, Kenny.

Forget Dal, it's Kosi we want.

Interesting chat on SEN tonight with Schwartz going hard at Robert Shaw. Tormenting him about the Bombers throwing big dollars at Kelly from the Cats and missing out. Schwartz then suggested the Bombers would throw a huge amount at Del Santo. Shaw wouldn't bite.

As Shaw says if a player doesn't really want to move from a club it is very hard to get them across the line nomatter how much money is on the table.

We might be after gun players but so are the Bombers, Collingwood, Hawthorn and probably afew others but I suspect salary cap pressure will cramp the style of the others.

I don't mind paying the right price but I will be peeved if we offer crazy money and anything over a 3 year contract for anyone over 24 yrs old.

I would rather suffer the pain and do it the hard way, building from within. The days of the $600,000 per year over 5 years are madness. Unless it is Judd

Regards Cazzesman

We should chase Kosi & Power - and I mean REAL HARD - RELENTLESS (be bold like when we got sticks, braddles, mots, dora, and diesel)

I don't know about recruiting more recycled players. Longmuir and Chambers have hardly been inspiring.

Agree with Cazzesman - it's better to take the long road. I'd sooner go another Fisher or Norman.

Save the money and spend it on a shrink to re-programme the wiring in Karl's head.

I love Kosi as a player, but he has too many injury concerns, people should set their sights elsewhere.

Synbad?

You've rightly pointed out one benefit of finishing last is we get first crack at the PSD. Who are the real prospects you think we could entice?

For mine i reckon Power is off limits, will definitely re-sign with Brisbane and i think Kosi the same.

Hazleby is a gun,and may be tiring of being under the microscope in the west.Perhaps moving to the mecca of football, the big smoke, may appeal. Also love Chad Fletcher.May have a similar mindset.

Fisher and Norman are not really our road back either. We need pure class. I want another Wells, Cooney or Reiwoldt. 8)

From what CM tells us, there is no such thing this year, from what he's seen so far. :(

The championships next week will reveal all!!

Melleefowl, how are you going to get a Wells or Riewoldt?

Don't get me wrong, if we can get one that'd be great.

But I wouldn't be offering $600k/yr over 5 yrs for anyone.

They come in selections 1 and 2 of the national draft. That is the only way.

Been thinking the same of Haselby. Seems to be out of touch of late and not getting as much time in the middle with Freo's abundance of midfielders. Not sure about his contract situation, but he is just the type we are looking for..

.. the only problem is what do we have to offer?
