In terms of signings ...I think this is sending the mesage that this (Fev's contract) is as good as it gets!

I love Lappin....but he can forget about 3 years....some may get 3 years, but they can forget about big money.....
That's what Fev's signing says.

As for not Captain material....it's still hard to judge.
Look at Ponting...I thought he had no hope but has matured into a very good Captain

Oh, and if you don't think it's the right way for the board to go in coontract negotiations...read this article

mandy, I can't see how Collingwood would desperately want or need Fev. You have a fantastic forward (albeit not as prolific) in Tarrant who is roughly equal in age, an absolute gem in T.Cloke who looks like he will be a star and Rocca who still has plenty to give. Rusling has potential.

I never saw any reason for the pies wanting Fev. You need midfielders a lot more then another FF. Exactly what we need!!

JUST SPOKE TO SOMEONE AT THE CLUB AND THEY SAID HE HAS NOT SIGNED i also spoke to my brother his mate knows Teague and he siad he has not heard anything. The players are back tomorrow for training so maybe they are trying to keep a lid on it so it can be announced tomorrow who knows what do you make out of this?

Taz is not a FF, simple as that. Having someone like Fev in our side would free up Tarrant to play further up the ground. And as controversial as this may sound, I'd really like to see Tarrant play CHB. I think he'd be great there.

Good on you guys for holding onto him, but I still believe he would be an asset in our team.

That is from left field.

I think you have 3 players who may be suited to the same half forward role. Maybe ideally Rocca should play closer to goal (when he gets back) and allow Tarrant and T Cloke to move up the ground when. Overall, it is a very potent quartet when you add Rusling who looks lively. As much as Fev would have been a massive asset for the pies, it would have meant that your list would be overloaded with similarly credentialed forwards.

Ballistic, it is on the AFL Carlton Website.

Who did you speak to at the club, Kosi or Elvis?

They'd best remove this from the website then....

Steady Jbee, Ballistic's right...Collo would have to clear it with Teague before being allowed to sign Fev...Then Teague could tell his mate, who would then whisper another rumour to Ballistic, who would then...

Why would every person "at the club" (from bootstudder to secretarial to gaming staff) know everything before news is released to the media?

If I were in charge of negotiations with a key player, I would make sure that I restricted the news of his re-signing to a handful of key staff. After all, telling everyone ensures that the news would trickle out as gossip, preventing the club making announcements in the way it desires.

And if I were a staff member or a player who had been told the news in confidence, I would deny knowledge if I were contacted by someone who wanted to know.

So let that be a lesson to you BB - just because a player or "someone at the club" denies knowledge of something doesn't mean it isn't so.

Sorry WW, definitely out of line with that one.
Just wondering when they will let the property manager down at Collingwood in on the announcement?

...You're right again...Collo should have cleared it with the receptionist first...
