I have noticed that the general feeling in here (and rightly so) is that Patrick Smith has gone way overboard with his criticisms of the Carlton Football Club and that his fetish for bagging the Blues is bordering on personal hatred.

I was wondering, could Talking Carlton contact Smith at The Australian challenging him to an online debate, to discuss his motivations for continually dragging up our past in his articles? Is that a good idea? I for one would like nothing more than to see him 'lost for words'.

I only just now thought of this concept spontaneously, so if we think this is not a great idea for whatever reason then that's fine. I just thought I would throw it out there. I suppose I am as incensed as the rest of you at his treatment of our fine Club.

I wouldn't want to challenge him to a debate - but I would like him to tell me the next time he will get up on his roof to clean his gutters.

He'd just turn it into another excuse to write a piece like

"Deluded Blues fans grasping onto past glories".

Best way to beat him, is smile, take his barbs, and get better![/code]

As long as our club refers to black Friday, Patrick will write columns. It tore the guts out of me when we lost those picks but it's really time we moved on. It aint the only reason we sit where we sit, short sighted recruiting pre the Pagan years hurt us more.

I hate this prick with a passion.
Makes Evans and Demetriou look like human.
I dream of kicking this prick in the head.
His two recent articles about Collo and the final game were lower than a snakes arsehole.

maybe he's in training for the contest

One of us should take on Smith in a Rat-poison eating contest.

I'd even let him go first

I don't want to play that. I'll play a game of 'Let's ignore Patrick for 20 years' though.
