1 after this? 2? retire at the end of the year?

just askin......

I wonder if they'll play him off the ball from next year to nurse him a bit. 3rd tall defender/forward might work.

Kouta could play 2 more i think BUT we cannot have him, campo, Stevens and Scotland and out four main midfielders because defensively it kills us. Keep Kouta and pout some speed and some accountability around him.

I hope Kouta retires at the end of this year after winning the best & fairest. I will be devestated to see him go but also sick of watching him bust his gut with little or no support from those around him.

He's still contracted for 2 after this year isnt he. I doubt that he wont see out his contract.

Pretty sure it's one after this and he will be there to end of 2006. After that...who knows...but agree that I hate seeing him bust a gut this year when there's so many passengers....
Darwin was an abberation...had the flue and I bet couldn't breath after the first 10 minutes....
to those who say he shouldn't have played...hindsight is great.

Kouta's current contract ends in 2006. If he remains relatively injury free up until next year I think he will play on. If he is riddled with injury then he will hang them up.

Play him one out in the goalsquare

As DB said our midfielders won't run the other way. Need players in there who are prepared to be accountable

On form, Kouta could go another year. And it's then I think we will be ready for our next captain. If it is Stevo they should flag it by the end of this season so that Kouta gets to pass the baton on.

I think start playing him forward immediately. Don't like him down back and we need to live without him in the midfield sometime.

Also agree with dannyboy we can't play him Campo, Stevens and Scotland in the midfield together. Thats where a lot of our problems are stemming from.

Yep I'm with those that say stick him up forward one out in the square.

He shouldn't even be allowed into the defensive 50 as he can not hold down a key defensive post.

6'4" can still move... play him in the pocket as a second target next to Fev... He will kill them!

Fev doesnt play one on one in the goal square, he leads out. Kouta shouldn't be a leading forward. Kind of like the way Lynch played for Brisbane; you'd imagine Kouta would be too strong for a lot of backmen

yep have fev is our FF but have Kouta running around the forward line is another tall marking option.

imagine the forward line

Fisher - Fevola - Betts
Waite - Whitnall - Kouta

OMG

Gee are the website Kouta
Part 1
http://carltonfc.com.au/default.asp?pg= ... eid=211280
Part 2
http://carltonfc.com.au/default.asp?pg= ... eid=211597
articles starting to sound like a bit of a testimonial????
Wonder if it's preparation for
1) Relinquishment of Captaincy
2) Retirement

...or just coincidence?
