Guess who's got too much time on his hands???

Which of the two following scenarios would you prefer??

SCENARIO 1:
Carlton wins by a couple of goals. Scrappy game but get over the line against another club outside the eight.
Stevens is best afield with 32 possessions. Lance kicks four goals and takes 12 marks. Among the best. Campo picks up 28 stats and chips in with two goals.
Skinny also plays well, picking up a squillion kicks all round the ground. Takes a few big grabs for good measure.
Kouta's Kouta. Most clearances on ground, even takes a few marks. More votes in the best and fairest.
Fev kicks six goals but doesn't chase a couple of times and abuses a couple of midfielders for poor delivery.
The kids? Serviceable but none among the better players. Walker handy at best, Davies and Betts on and off the bench like yo-yos and Waite watched most the ball go to Lance and Fev.
Bentick and Setanta (who's been promoted) and Simmo ran around again with the Bullants.

OR

SCENARIO 2:
Carlton loses after being very competitive for most of the
game against a top eight side. Lack of experience and costly errors by a couple of youngsters enable opponents to kick last couple of goals to win by 14 pts in a high-scoring, free-flowing match.
One of the those days when the best side doesn't necessarily win.
Outstanding performances from many of the younger players.
Walker wins 26 possessions, including another nomination for mark of the year, after starting off half-back and moving into the middle. Kicks two lovely goals from snaps in the second half.
Simmo has his best game, providing constant drive from his wing and the occasional run in the back half. Tackles and desperation a feature.
Betts (three goals) and Davies (two) are livewires up forward, kicking opportunist goals and showing great defensive pressure in the forward line.
Bentick and Carrazzo provide the grunt in midfield, feeding the ball to the runners.
Waite kicks three goals and takes 12 marks, teaming well with Fisher who doesn't kick a goal but takes the most contested marks in the game.
Bryan and French dominate the ruck; Prender's desperation and athleticism win us crucial ball; Setanta shows promise when given a run up forward in the second half, taking some strong marks after replacing a disappointing Whitnall, and Russell wins 10 clean possessions across half back after spending the first half on the bench in only his third senior game.
Fev kicks four and works his butt off.
Livo and T-Bird beat their opponents and team well with young Hartlett who is very solid on the third tall and Sporn shuts down their key midfielder while winning the pill 18 times himself.
Senior players serviceable but none among the best six. Side's improvement driven by the young players.

option 1 is appealing...but would that really happen?? i dont think option 2 is even close to where we are at...we would most likely be smashed by both teams...although if we played like you say in option 1 there is every chance we would win...infact that sounds similar to how we played in the wizard cup...

The one where we win as opposed to losing. The object of the game is to win.

I'd take option 2.

But if we ever have a game where Fev kicks 4, Betts and Waite 3 each and Davies kicks 2, and Walker stars with 26 possies... then I'd be pretty surprised if we lost.

Option one, if it's our fourth and last win for the year.

Option two, if the win in Option one defines what contract amounts and terms Campo, Lance and Lappin will get for 2006 onwards.

Option 2 for me. The promise shown would be so exciting. And as an official AB supporter, seeing him perform like that will be great.

I'd have to say option two. Would normally prefer a win, but shit option two has me salivating...

Option 1 sounds like 2005. Option 2 sounds like 2007.

I'd go Option 2 because it shows we have a greater team effort and promise of sustained success. Although I'm not too happy with losing 2 years of my life in a blink of an eye.

Option 2 is far more appealing. I keep looking for our future premiership players ,sometimes i catch a glimps, but a game like that would get me excited.

So I take it you all will be not cheering for Carlton at the dome in 2 weeks. I'm glad internet supporters are only a small minority of our clubs fan base.

And so we come to the 'I am a better supporter than you' crap which really does display better than anything (except the way we are playing) how crappy we are at the moment.

I go i watch i leave hurt, angry disillusioned, bitter, twisted, sad etc Just like you and everyone else who is a bluebagger - oh except for verbs, he has foundthis inner peace thing. But its how to deal with all of that stuff that's the issue not who feels it the most.

I want us to win every game while we're in it, however I truly might not if we were on 4 1/2 wins

I want us to win another 5 games and next year be in the same position as we are this year except with more rejects to get us to 7 wins again next year.. to be in the same position as we were this year.. so more rejects can come in so we can win 7 wins again that year and maybe 8 wins.. so we can be in the same position as we were again next year.. to win six wins that year (cos we had a couple of injuries) so as we can be in the same position as we were that year... etc etc etc etc....

I can see your logic ' The Game'... ripper idea.!!!!

I bet your favourite movie is Groundhog Day too....

Here's an alternate question

Option 1

Fev, Whitnall, Lappin, Stevens and Kouta are our best players for the remainder of the year. Bentick, Walker, Carazzo and Bryan spend most of the game's on the bench and we win another 2 games.

Option 2

Pagan turns the midfield over the younger players. Walker, Carazzo, Bryan, Bentick, Waite, Thornton and Livo are fantastic, Houla picks up his game. puts his body on the line a lot more. We win 6 of our remaining games.

Now don't point out Option 2 is impossible because we won 4 games late last year. Lets suppose our younger players surprise us.

Which option would you prefer?
