Unfortunately the Carlton Football Club isnt the most enjoyable place to be at the moment.
Lappin is obviously playing with injuries and wouldnt be enjoying his footy.
Throw in the contract negotiations, poor prospects in the short term and Lappo could easily be feeling unsettled.

I wouldnt be surprised if he gave it some thought.

But it was said "now playing good footy with another club".
Lappin hasn't been playing good footy.

dont tell me tony locket's coming out of retirement again....

would it matter if we got rid of matty for a high pick...he aint gunna be part of our next premiership side, and although he has been very servicable to us..we could start giving JR some important experience in the position that matt currently occupies...(?)...

Why not a three year deal that has the third year dependant upon performance? (as long as the expected performance levels are of the standard you would expect from a 200+ game, All-Australian)

Are you allowed to do that? why does it have to be so cut & dry?

Put it on him to earn his third year.

I love "Skinny" but if he does not want to be here then let him go. If the problem is the coach then trade him. If the problem is a 3 year deal then trade him.
If he is happy with a 2 year deal on 250 to 300k then sign him up.
If St Kilda are interested in he and Whitnall for Kozzy then trade him.

I'd want at least Kosi and their second pick for Lappin and Lance.
Can't see Lappin going though.
He'll come to the party eventually.

Lappin is a good player but at 30 the saints would not be interested

You are dreaming if you think you are a chance to get Kosi...

The Saints fans are right. I'd take a Kosi-Lappin trade in a second.

the fact is we have buckets of cash to pay Kosi and by going what Dal was signed for, Kosi ain't gonna get much more than $200k-$250k PA at the saints.

C'mon Kosi, it's a short career in this game. Take the wedge!
