Okay, okay I know I know, two picks, first and 3rd and all that comes with it but I can't help myself. Jesus I want to smash those Saints this weekend! I want Fev to kick 10, Walker to gather 40 possesssions, Russell to debut and play a blinder, Bryan to drop fifty meter passes into our laps on the wing and for the side to just shrug off all the frailities and misgivings and have a crack at it, have a bit of fun and just go ape shit on the weekend and smash the Sainters so far into the turf they'll only be groggily rising when we are really coming back a few years from now.

I know its silly, I know Tanking is the Word, (I've even ordered the T, for tanking,T-shirt). I know what TC really stands for and that Campo is a soft six inches of flesh and Whits has too much flesh and too many vutures have been picking at our flesh for too many years but hell I want to beat the Saints!

I want a game of football on the weekend not a deliberation on draft picks and Hurn verses bloody Murphy and Dowler over friggin Clarke! @#$%&! 'em all! I want the bluebaggers to run out and smash the stupid grins off the Sainters cos that's what every supporter should want! Forget next year, next draft, next Campo bashing rally or Whits flogging, I want a victory and I want it this weekend and if that releases a dam of wins well draft be damned I'll take that as well!

Go Blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure I want the picks, but St.Kilda are the only team I want us to beat for the rest of the year.

Should we get up, I shall be making a visit to the Moorabbin Wing/Level 3 M35 in the 4th quarter.

Agreed, I am sick of F...ing losing. I know that we need the extra pick, but I want to feel that winning feeling again.

aslong as we dont finish last i dont care how many games we win or lose, i just dont want to finish last.

the only things you remember about seasons are those that win the GF and those that finish last.

i wont this year to be a year that carlton is remembered for anything if we cant win a flag.

I thought I could take us finishing last and getting priority picks but when I saw the scores at half time last week I realise I can't. The feeling of optimism and pride is something I have been missing.
If we finish 15th or 14th and win a few games and the players show something for the rest of the year that is preferable to laying down and accepting the current situation.
I am all for rebuilding and trading a few players and drafting the best talent year after year for our future. You still need to be competitive. Still need Thornton, Livo, Walker and co to keep improving. Stevens, Teague, Scotland to find form. The few youngsters like a Simpson, Bentick could get delisted or go on to be good footballers.
I really dont think we are bad as our form indicates and would like it to be turned around. The Adelaide and Sydney games where we lost we showed plenty of desire and hope.
As soon as the game starts I could not give a toss about the draft and PP all I care about is winning.

I will probably get a blasting for this, but... we deserve to finish last! Yes, I am sick of losing, but if we dont finish on the bottom of the ladder this year, then it is purely and simply because we were lucky.

Last, Second Last. They're both shit.

Seriously, were Richmond's supporters feeling any worse than Hawthorn's at the end of Round 22 last year? I'd imagine not.

But waking up the next day knowing they had DeLideo in the bag, plus first choice in the PSD?

I'll guarantee that for the next three months, Richmond supporters felt a bit happier than their counterparts at the Hawks.

They don't actually award you with a wooden spoon, you know. Just the first pick.

Who came first in 79? Carlton. Who came last? I don't know.
80? Richmond. Last, don't know.
81? Carlton. Last, don't know.
82? Carlton. Last, don't know.
83? Hawthorn. Last, don't know.
84? Essendon*. Last, don't know.
85? Essendon*. Last, don't know.
86? Hawthorn. Last, don't know.
87? Carlton. Last, don't know.

I could go on right up until about 2002. I remember who came last for two or three years, then after that it fades from memory because it's largely irrelevant.

There's no stigma in coming last, just stigma in being shit for an extended period (a la St Kilda and Richmond - and us if we don't bite the bullet)

Do St.Kilda fans remember the 25 times they've come last?

Mostly St Kilda...Richmond in 1987. They do stick...I reckon Richmond supporters would have felt worse, just like I will if we finish last.

Does that really matter when weighed up against drafting first or second...well you're probably right then thats its better to finish last.

Just spoke to my ol man about our current plight. He is a 60+ and a veteran of many, many blues victories and GF wins. He now says we need to finish "as last as possible" to get those picks :o :o :o :o My god, what has this comp become. I said to him it's lucky there isn't 30 teams playing or we'd be 30th. :(

I want to beat the Aints but that means they'll miss the finals, and if they miss the finals the Tuggers will probably make the finals and I'm sure no-one wants that.

I don't know what to want any more :?

c'mon Blues, lets win 8 in a row!!!

It is the 'glorification' and the attendant desire of coming last that irks me. Finishing last is not something one should be happy about but very dissappointed if not ashamed about. Then to boast about finishing last displays the worst kind of boorishness I can imagine outside of a Bush State of The Union address.
