I reckon he shows enough to keep him.
Its not so much the skill because he lacks skill.. but he tries and has some grunt.
Something we severely lack.

In my opinion he deserves another year.

I had questioned his selection .

Not now i dont!!!

Got towelled by Milne et al at stages but got caught out trying to cover other men and his bloke scarpered. But I like his attitude and bit of grunt. Actually plays like he gives a shit. as opposed to ...

I agree but his lack of skill really hurts us.

Yep, I'd be keeping Bowyer on one condition...

Tell him to kick the ball rather than always looking for the player running past for the handball.

Its nice that he acknowledges his kicking isn't up to scratch, but the number of times he stuffed up handballing...

I liked him last year, went off him when Carazzo started playign so well this year and are back on him now that his workrate stands above so many of his teammate's.

I say we keep everyone who's prepared to work their ass off, regardless of talent. Bowyer, Prenda, Wiggo.

Totally agree with theposters - skill deficiencies but a tough nut and gives his all - we need more like him.

Reads the play as well as anyone and always puts his body on the line. I noticed he was a little further up the ground at stages, either filling up the holes at half-back or covering for teammates who had run forward. Looks best suited to a back flank where he can use his ability to read the play. Too slow for the small forward pockets and too short for the talls. Can play midfield as an in and under rotation too. Has his limitations but never gets too far ahead of himself.

I'd be surprised if he was moved on, though not shocked. Nothing about the modern game shocks me...except the umpiring.

I'd keep him just for the simple fact that he deserves to be on our list. Might not be in our best team but definately worth a spot on the list and competitive when selected to play.

I call him a squad player !!

Which of his 10 possessions in the first quarter were awful?

Lose Bowyer and Wiggo and we lose the only guys at the club that are happy to take on body contact!

These guys aren't starts but you do need to have some grunt!
Bowyer should be kept! Milne got away on a number of occassions as he was happy to peel off whilst Bowyer was the only one trying to get the ball for us!!!!

Plus in the words of Terry Wallace....if I see once more players running back to their man whilst a HACK runs at goal and has 14 weeks to line himself up and have a shot..."I'LL SPEW UP"

Agree with most of the posters here and reckon we should definatly keep Prenda, Wiggo and Bowyer.
While we will not be able to play them all in the same 22 at least when they do play they give their all, and lets face it they wouldnt be costing us a packet.
Every team needs it's foot soldiers and these 3 bleed navy blue.

He wont be a long termer but he tries his heart out and is apparently a quality person off the field. These are two commodities that we seem to be in short supply of at the moment. I'd give him another year but on our current form I'm not sure that would be a reward or a punishment...

An average player with heart is currently of more use to us than a "star" who doesn't give a shit.

Bowyer should be used more at the centre clearances - his lack of pace is exposed in the back pocket against the likes of Milne.

Exactly!

Boy do we need a quick small defender with the likes of Williams, Matera, Farmer, Medhurst, Milne, Davey becoming noted goalkickers and at some stages focal points.

Bowyer would be fine on a flank, further away from goal. Showed poise in getting the ball at times, just let himself down with disposal.

Dont get me wrong I like Bowyer, I think with his grunt, hardness and big body would be more suited to a Centre Clearance role, "in and under get it out type".

He did the in and under thing at one stage and then got pinged for holding it when the 4 Saints who weren't going for the ball simply jumped on him.
Stupid interpretation.
