Not our best this year.
Not by a long shot.
He has been great these past two seasons, but not this year.

Only deserves a two year contract on current form.

You got a love the Carlton culture...
"We never re build"
"We never lose players"
Brown paper bags... and some of you guys just stick up for this kind of behaviour...

These blokes who put themselves in front of the club must go.
Still im expecting Lappin to stay.. once he sees NOONE will give him 3 years.... but the shine has been dulled somewhat hasnt it???

Now i wonder what Campo will do with his contract... :D

Were you alive in 01' or do you just make up sh!t

No but I recognise it between people's ears when I see it.

READ the WHOLE sentence. Consistently good means good every week. Not quiet for three weeks out of four then pull out a blinder. He was never consistent before he went to half back, because every week he copped the opposition's best small defender and more often than not got taken out of the game.

So he's a fine wine getting better with age?
The guy is 29 and is getting on.
He'd have two years of decent football left in him.

He's on the decent. His form this year has been ordinary at best, apart from a game or two. Lappin has been a good servant, but it doesn't warrant a 3 year deal. The Elliott regime is gone in case you were wondering TG!!!

Compared to the past 3 to 4 years, this year is looking like his worst.

And I do have an idea. No room for sentiments.

Players can play well into their 30's you know. Pagans in his 60's he got a 3 year deal and he has been on a descent for half a decade.

Lappin has been offered more money than he is worth at the moment.
but there is no way a 30 year old player gets 3 years....

Noone said he is a downhill skiier.. thats Campos domain.

If this is true and Lappin wants a 3 year deal or he will walk, well then close the door behind you when you leave....

It would be a shame to see you go Skinny Lazy Lappin...

Agree, but not many. He ain't no Craig Bradley.

The clubs' policy for offering 2 year deals is fair and consistent with other clubs. Three years or greater should be treated by exception with regard to age, form, and injury status. And Mr Lappin has age against him.

2 years or Game Over

End of story.

Sounds like a player who realises he does not really have 3 more years in him and knows it . He could take 2 and then negotaite a 1 year deal later if his body and form are up to it.
Get in now for the 3 years and then ski down those slopes.
Dont let the door hit you on the way out Skinny.
