Mods can we create a showdown forum?

Much better entertainment value than the Crows vs Port or Eagles vs Freo.

:D

I reckon we have a BM v Synbad Mud wrestle bitch-fight. We bet on the winner, and half the betting kitty goes to the club.

Look, this is becoming ridiculous you two, I know both of you and I'm not going to take sides...both of you in person are completely different people.

Shall we direct this vitriol to certain others rather than at two equally passionate Carlton supporters?

Demetriwho or Fat Pat would be a good start.

LMFAO!

That is, hands down, the damn funniest post i've seen on TC.

Anyway agree with everyone in that Lappin should not be offered a three year deal.

But flaming the guy is pretty ridiculous isn't it?

Pound for pound he has been the best performing player for the last 3-4 years (this year has been disappointing). He knocked back an offer from Richmond when we were (if this isn't now) at the lowest ebb of our great club. I'd imagine that it would have been quite attractive to bail at that stage, and for more money to boot.

His manager is bleating. I'm confident that he will be retained on a two year deal.

And i'm amazed at the amount of people that have leapt to Synbad's defense. The mysterious MCB poster didn't descend to a level that Synbad hasn't already sunk to in the past.

Although I aggree that not posting under one's own name was a bit piss weak.

i love this pound for pound description we get of Lappin.

Pound for pound he still only weighs 6 pounds so we still aint getting much out of him.

Without wanting to buy into the Synbad/Mark arguement i too recall Larry's borrowing his son to post on the old TBV site.At the time i thought it poor form and still do..

Might i suggest that those who have been happy in the past to adopt a public profile i.e been happy to be seen as the "voice" of the fans ,be equally happy to post in their public form?

Larry and the would be if he could be Parliamentarian might be a good start!....

:D

I recall a Dave Hughes interview piece (was it aired on the Glass House? Or 'the fifth quarter' on ten? Can't remember) where he basically took the piss when firing lots of questions at Digby Morrell.

Iirc asked if he knew when Matty will hit puberty.. Or something like that.

Made me chuckle a bit.

Gee you're an important bloke Synbad - you're sounding a bit like Carlton God without the sense of humor. Just stick to the topic, forget about big noting and patronising.

Dear oh Dear ...another case of "Synbad syndrome"..Verbs made a very good thread on the psychology of supporter and why they get involved to the levels they do in the game. I think the reason why people post on the forums is just as interesting and the reasons why a certain poster has his fans and critics even more interesting as far as the mental side of it goes.
Normally I wouldnt get involved in this stuff but Verbs thread got me thinking a bit..

I think a lot of the attacks on the monster known as Synbad are from people who actually want to be like Synbad and deep down have a certain admiration for the sailorboy and the way he goes about his business as TC's version of Deep Throat..I dont think its about the actual topics at hand more about gaining superiority and challenging the one who they feel has the ear of the masses which they really want themselves...they want to be admired for their inside knowledge, connections to everything navy blue...but it doesnt matter how hard they try..everyone usually turns turns to Synbad for guidance and clarification on all things Navy Blue.....and how that irritates the Synbads in waiting....the wannabes who want the same attention and acclaim....MCB or whoeva it is in disguise actually read as being very desperate in a sad way to guzump the sailorboy with inside info..was almost like a political tirade wanting the masses to elect him/her as the new "Oracle" and banish the evil one known as Synbad.......its entertaining stuff and has almost become a game for the parties involved..well for some anyway...

Would everyone just concentrate on the footy ?

Everyone contributes in their own way............. I really appreciate Synbad's input to this site.

If you all push him away.......... I will be

C'mon everyone let everyone have their opinions. Everyone is equally important in here. I don't know any inside information but I love Carlton and a lot of people call me obsessed. This is the only forum where we get some semblence of information. The media talk crap and the club, well hide everything.

It's the normal argey bargey of contract negotiations.
It's definitely no less palatable than Bradley refusing to train with the club everytime he wanted a new contract.
It's the way some managers choose to operate.

I cant blame Skinny for trying for 3 years.
Hopefully he accepts 2 and sees his career out with the Blues.

Gerard Healey said there would be a throng of clubs wanting to sign Lappin on a three year contract on 3 aw today...
Id like to see thaT!
I reckon Lappin will remain at Carlton on a two year contract.
He is a required player and i do0nt blame him for trying but its not going to happen....

He's got to be kidding doesn't he? I mean he's actually had a down year by his recent standards - not the best time to push the envelope.

3AW were a disgrace tonight, Healy, et al were pumping up Campo and Lappin for 3 year contracts. They keep pumping up Campo, does Campo give them a sling out of his yearly $600,000 salary or something.
