Mine is:
Premierships - wooden spoons = success factor

Carlton:
16 -1 = 15

St Kilda
1 - 26 = -25

Officially barracking for 15th spot this year.

Agreed.

It was the one thing we could say when Essendon* supporters claimed they had as many premierships as us.

I stated what I want a few times Synbad much to your disgust. I don't want anymore spoons...period. 15th I can live with, if we can get the PP all the better. I don't believe the difference between 1 and 3 vs 2 and 4 is going to be the difference between premierships and no premierships.

The way we are heading we might as well be StKilda or Richmond, ie thinking draft picks are the sole holy grail and turning on our own. You've been around this longer than me I'm sure but it takes a shit load more than draft picks to win flags. How many have StKilda won in the last few years(apart from a pre season one, which we have too).

One of the things I love about this club is it always had pride.

My strategy is a little radical and may take you a bit by surprise, but here goes:

Tank Games = Get Picks = improve team = win games = flag

You can always argue that we have won 16 Grand Finals. Compared to Essendon*'s 14.

This is killpies formula to measure success...not achieve it.

Achieving success

Obtaining the right mix of players while maintaining the right culture around the football club.

1. An honest, hardworking, futuristic board and committee.

2. An honest, hardworking, futuristic football department.

3. TALENTED, committed, professional playing personal.

My formula?

Don't rely just on the draft.

Be willing to trade too. (not first round picks ...unless it is something great)

Trades are good - eg

Teague and McGrath. They both have weaknesses- but they have still been good trades for us. Both were important in the wizzer cup victory.

need speed and big bodies. We want to play a collision/damage game of football. Need Bryan and French cleaning up a few opponents.

Synbad this thread wasn't about plans but mine would read somewhat similiarly to everyone elses on here, just want to do it without tanking, winning spoons or crucifying individual players for the sake of it.
Was merely interested in how people measure the success of a club.

Get rid of the whole match committee including Pagan and start again. The current MC have failed us and brought shame to Carlton.

And who would you replace the current Match Committee with TheGame? And I don't just want a name for a coach, I want you to name your ideal MC if you reckon the current one should be sacked.
