I had been purposefully ignoring this thread because I thought it must have been something to do with Demetrou..... :evil:

Well, I gotta say that's good news. He was the one I was really worried about because of the crap that's going on at the moment.

Coming along nicely that Walker kid......

Agreed - O'Sullivan should have called out "We bag Cooney" before the Bullies had made their selection. Then under the rules of the school yard, they would have had to pick someone else.

If you recall though you are only allowed one "bags" each year and we used ours to get Stevens over Rawlings.

We also got Ricky Mott under the "fat kid gets picked last" school rule that year too, if I recall correctly.

Perhaps to follow on from this a better comparison might be Michael Voss to Jason Akermanis, who's the better and why? I think the Walker vs Cooney comparison will work out similar although I'm not labelling Walker the next Akermanis by any means just that he has the potential to perform the brilliant rather than 'control' the game. I think Walker will become a team lifter in the years to come. Inspirational grabs, running goals and scything Judd like runs linking up the midfield.

Can't wait for the day he actually hangs on to one of those grabs :-)

just a pity we'll never see it at Princess Park - the Heatley stand would have collapsed!

I can remember the last Carlton player described as an "athlete" as opposed to a "footballer". If Andrew turns out to be in a similar vein we are laughing.
