If this got up you could bet your balls it would be televised.

Absolutely, indeed that would be the point of following through on this one, or at least part of it.

Well, as mentioned we play games on Holy Thursday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, and people seem to manage. Should we have no football at all on this weekend?

CB, I think you underestimate the importance of Good Friday to Christians. Its THE most holiest day on the calender.

I think you'd find most Christians would not begrudge footy on any of the other days of that week.

The real difficulty comes about on Easter Sunday. Stay home for the huge feast or go to the footy. It aint an easy decision! - especially when a greek BBQ is involved.

I'm all for a Good Friday fixture, and I'd suggest playing someone like Richmond would be a great annual event. And there is no doubt whoever is covering footy at the time would want a piece of it. In fact, if memory serves me correctly, channel 7 pushed for it when they were still covering the footy. It may well be part of the new football rights contract.

Fair enough. I was raised RC, so I'm not completely clueless, just a little bit.

I'm for it as long as it was tied in with the Royal Childrens Hospital Appeal.
If we do play I hope the umpires don't crucify us on the night.

Would support the idea. As a fallback, we should be trying to persuade Richmond to stage a game between the two clubs on Easter Monday, given that the "blockbuster" they and the Saints had on that day for a couple of years seems to have fallen by the wayside

What a load of tripe. Most Christians arnt all that Christian. Come out on one day a year and make out like what devout Christians they are. I used to be an alter boy as a kid observed how most people seemed to go to church for the social outing. Women there were always overheard bitching about what other women were wearing etc etc. Chritianity is about practising your beliefs all year not just on significant days. So bugger it bring on the footy. Also as far as crowd fo it doesnt seem to hurt the league. The only thing I would ask is it be televised live into NSW
