for the next skeleton to be dragged out of the closet kicking and screaming.....

We should have a competition... what is the next bizzare chapter in the clubs history.

In reckon it will be we get pinged and lose the first 3 picks in each of the next two years for not making the 92.5% threshold of the salary cap...

The problem is the Lancos, Campos and Lappos team will be nroken up next year.... so it might leave a gaping hole in our salary cap that we cant bridge....

Put a tin rattler from the Salvation Army on our list. At least we'd feel good about ourselves while we're shit.

what is the next stage in our bizarre history?

blues win last 6 games of the season.....shit!....end up with pick six in the draft....some young kid called ????, who goes onto win the brownlow in 2006, while the blues continue to re-build

now imagine that

This problem was put to you by me a few weeks ago and you laughed it off and accused me sarcastically of not "thinking laterally". Your response of what to do with the cash was simply to pay our younger players more money in the hope of reaching the required 92.5%.

Now you come out all concerned and finally it hits, "shit, maybe we can't make the 92.5%!" as if you only just thought of this now?!? :?

Maybe they could draft Denis Pagan as a playing coach and pay his contract under the salary cap.

Dont be daft BB2005.. it was tongue in cheek....

The problem was put to me by you.. but it isnt a problem....

Do you reckon we will keep Lance, Campo etc for whatever huge amounts they want just so we dont go under 92.5%???... you reckon the club will continue lining the pockets of those oxygen thieves???

They have offers.. they either take it or leave it..

As for how we will pay the minimum????
we will pay it responsibly to our current players and we shall select what we need from other clubs and aggresively go after them...
Geez , youre so clever.......

This thread was tongue in cheel and more about the kinds of things were getting stung for than actually hitting 92.5%...

sheeeeeeeeeeesh!!!!

its like i have to hold some peoples hand just to help them cross the TC road.....

Then if the road is clear of traffic
walk straight across the road
don't run

i know this thread is meant to be 'tongue in cheek' ...

but can someone confirm whether the min salary cap requirement is actually 95% for clubs not dipping into the CBF; and 92.5% for clubs like kangas and WB who are receiving assistance from the ALF.

Bosman is right....this was touched on last night on 3AW when Healy and Sheahan got stuck into that dimwit Adrian Anderson who appears to know nothing about football at all. Healy put it to him that if we cut/trade Whitnall/Campo/Lance that we might not be able to get up to 92.5 % of the cap and would breach the enterprise agreement the players have with the AFL....Healy said it was stupid that a cashed strapped club like us should be forced to spend 92.5% if they didnt have to and we should be allowed to pay less due to our circumstances.....Anderson didnt know what the minimum figure was and tried to avoid the question by saying its our fault for having too many backloaded contracts...if we dont get some talent like Kosi in we could end up paying a load of average players way in excess of what they are worth and just throwing money down the drain..the salary cap is absurd just like the drafting system...

Could it be time to get the PSD taken to court and outlawed in favour of free agency?????

Perhaps we should offer Kosi a million bucks next year, the $350k p/a for the 3 after that.

WE'RE JUST PLAYING BY THE AFL'S RULES!!!
