Listened to Thomas talking to the boys from 3AW last night and he said they were nearly there on the deal but Kosi didnt want to do any deals until the end of the year and had terminated talks. Thomas much like his coaching wasnt convincing...too me it sounds like Kosi is going to hang out until the end and see what offers he gets and get a market place value of where he stands and then talk with Stkilda...I thinks the Saints will most likely keep him but have to shed some other talent .
I think he would get 500K a year easy from cashed up clubs so I reckon the Saints would be looking at 400K minimum a year to keep him...maybe we can pounce on some of the lesser lights that get shed ...

Hate to reignite the flames of passion, but what does this say about the importance of the outcome on Sat????

I personally have no idea but I wonder if Kosi is waiting to see if Harvey plays on or not. If Harvey/Peckett or someone else was to retire might that free up some $$$ to sweeten his contract and let him stay with the aints.

I defer to those with inside knowledge etc.

Yeah, well as you all know, I'm Denis Pagans son and he told me that Kosi is sleeping in Carlton Pyjamas now, so make of that what you will!

you're all forgetting the voodoo curse placed on Carlton by mutant vombies from HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No way we'll get him. As the poster said earlier... the AFL would prefer to fiddle St.Kilda's books than see him get to Carlton.

PS why are we even offering Campo and Whitnall new deals? Can't we simply trade/delist them and save EVERYTHING???

I'll only be there for a day, two weeks time. Will be going to Doggies vs Eagle at the G saturday arvo, then Swans vs Dons that night at telstra....

I'll try and organise catchup with as many as possible while I'm there...

I think we are offering Lappin a new deal, jostling with Campo and not even really considering Lance as he is as good as gone IMO.

I'd consider Campo as good as gone as well.

Lappo I have more time for.

We need Campo's leadership about as much as we need Demetriou's I reckon.

But forgive my digressions.....

Trouble is, no one wants Campo apparently.
Has been bandied around to every club and no one wants a bar of him.
Perhaps if he lifted his game he might have been worth something to somebody.

The latest rumour going around at the moment is that Kosi asked Hamill were he got the stat dec from?

Dont know where you get your stuff from PJ but youre wrong.
The club sees a much bigger future for Lance then they do Campo at this present time.
Thats not to say he wont be offered around during trade week, but the club wont let him go for nothing..

I've been looking forward to a big name at the Saints walking out the door due to salary cap strife. If it's Kosi and we get him then that's just the icing on the cake.

Are Saints fans still cheering on the Hamill five year deal?

Deano...

still showing your hatred towards Hamill...

Yet it's OK if Kosi does the same???

Ah my favourite topic! I was waiting for this to make an appearance, where's GarthP when you need him? I'm sure he can't be far away - still think the Hamil deal was good for the club do we? As I said then Garth (and lurking Saint's supporters), Hamil IS a poison chalice.

You've been lucky so far but the luck (much like you TPP) WILL run out. Perhaps Aaron could take a pay cut to help with the TPP problem I mean he's a team guy and everything isn't he? A better clubman you wouldn't find surely?!?!?

If it is true that Kosi has signed today (as mentioned in another thread according to SEN) - then it shows how little most jounos actually "know" about what is going on. I reckon CW read TC discussions about Kosi and said - "hey looks like Carlton is chasing Kosi" and wrote the article.... :?

Never said they were going to let him go for nothing, Josh.
Of course we will strive to get something for him and if we can't get what we think is adequate then we'll probably keep him.
Somehow I don't think Denis sees much in Lance though.

Brian Waldron said on SEN a couple of weeks ago that he still beliueved Kosi was likely to stay but that if any of their young kids would not be effected by the emotional aspect of friendship etc it would be Kosi...

Hamill will be the reason the Saints fall up regardless of whether Kosi stays or not....

Maybe Kozi can take something out of the case of that rugby league player who changed to Manly ...

What about Barass.... lots of players have done it over the years.

If he is being underpayed $200,000 i would seriously hold off until the end of the year... does he have to sign now?
