Denis's hands have been tied in that many ways it's not funny. As mikkey pointed out there's the list he inherited, the inability to trade into early rounds, the missing picks (we always focus on Goddard and Wells but we actually missed out on SEVEN players) and so on.

For this reason Denis will have my support based on his record and the success he seems to be having with some of the kids until such time when his hands aren't tied and we go nowhere. Then I'll call for his head.

From where I'm sitting however none of the players have had their hands tied in any way. The performance of kids like Walker, Thornton, Wate, Fisher etc shows it's possible to play great football under this coach.

So why aren't our "team leaders" playing good football?

If the kids can do it why not the older guys? Nothing is stopping an individual from knuckling down, training hard and playing a blinder. The kids have proven that. These guys are meant to be professional. Blaming the coach because they're not happy doesn't wash.

Perhaps the need to TAGHLAT...

Surrey, how many trades/ delistings have really hurt us?

Which players delisted have gone on to become stars at other clubs?
WHich trade has really failed us?

I think we're all unhappy about where we're at but I can't see these being the driver.

Synbad, Given my initial post was about the football dept and not the board I cannot for the life figure out how you figured out I thought the board was incompetant. I have explained my position re the board. On balance they have done a good job. On reflection the decision to re-appoint Dennis may have been premature. A decision I supported. I suspect if Dennis was still uncontacted his position would be in jepoardy

7Dom, I stand by my initial statement that I believe the coaching dept has been bad this year. The only reason why if I was in charge at years end I would not exit Dennis, is because of his contract. Otherwise I would.

There will be a shake up at years end within the football dept.
BM the foiotball department has been approved by the board.
If the football dept is not up to scratch 4 months after it was ratified by the board.. they ALL have to go..
If you cant see what youre saying youre just becoming more and more stupid by the day.

Football board gave footy dept a thumbs up 4 months ago after watching the football dept closely for THIRTY months.NO EXCUSES!!!!!
They actually have ratified over 2 million and three MORE years into this football department.
If you or they think Pagan isnt the man theyre responsible for their decision.
Thats what accountability of the board means.
Blue Mark has lost the plot... hes like those guys in the war movies that just loses it and starts shooting at everything that moves... "MUDDAFUPPERRRRRRRRRRRRS!!!!!!!!!!!!".... *shooting everywhere*

Synbad surely even you have to agree that the football dept needs a rocket up its a***. Funds and lots of it needs to be thrown its way. Rehn should be a priority but alas our tight financial position will see the status quo remain.
