If you were Murphy, why would you want to come to Carlton... what to play along Houla, Campo and Lappin..

Why not go to Brisbane and play along Brown, Nigal Lappin, Voss, Acka, Black, Power and co... The choice is easy...

Yep over now.

Its funny the people go on and on about finishing last and getting theprized 1st pick because thats going to be a better player and losing is worth that....then you point out its not that big a difference and they fall straight back to the PSD.

I think too many people want to say they're a visionary looking to the future just for the sake of it.

It's not just one thing Brad - it's the combination of all the advantages 16th gives over 15th.

That versus some bullshit "pride" over not coming last?

As far as I'm concerned 15th or 16th is exactly the same - it means you had a crap year. With that in mind why not take the bonus fries?

A long time ago I loved his talent, hated his work ethic and lack of courage, after 2002 said I'd never watch a game
he played in again.

I calmed down and changed my mind when it appeared he'd changed and started defending him because he had one thing we sorely lacked.

tried defending him all season as I have most of the players.

BUT

Time to piss the weak little girl off out of this football club...let's move forward without those piss weak efforts.

I don't like this comment. BUT he had an interesting first half (until my Dad threw the remote at me and that was the end of watching the game). I enjoyed his smother that lead to a Waite goal.

Bluegirl, in the last qrt Houla pulled out of marking or intercepting a pass to Buddy.. Weak weak weak weak weak effort.. Then 20 seconds later he followed it up by letting Clarke walk into an open goal...

During the second qrt when Croad bounced one thru houla was standing behind Leckarse and hardly made an effort.

We need players who will put there bodies on the line... Houla won't......

OK I get it, he had another bad game. But why take it out on him. He's not the only one who had a bad game, I'm sure.

And considering I spent most of the time listening to it on the radio and not able to watch it, I couldn't say whether he did the right thing or not.

Yep have to agree Bossman the gloss is wearing off Houla .... may work better in another team that can afford a player to not have to tackle or receive the ball but at this stage of the Blues team list that is not really a player we require who just dosnt put any pressure on the opposition.

Houla is a luxury player in a good list but not a nessesary player in a list needing players to put in

Houla shirked us pick 1 - we should all be praising him.

The match was in the balance until that shirked contest with Franklin

So ... we wanna lose this game - Houlihan helped us lose this game - so we hate Houlihan. Confusing

I'm confused, I thought we won, but how come the Hawthorn theme song was played after the final siren. :|

The pain of todays loss will be washed away after we restructure after the 2005 Season.

Pick 1 and 3 is the best position for us to be in at the end of this year.

No guarantee of course that we will get Marc Murphy, but we are in a much better position having the 2005 spoon than if we finished 15th.

However, if the talk that Marc idolising Pagan and Carey is true, one would think that this would be a very good reason for him to stay in his home town and be picked up by Carlton in the draft.

We desperately need players of the quality of Bradley, Kernahan Williams etc in our team if we are to be a genuine premiership threat in the future. Murphy does seem to be such a player.

No, he isnt a saviour himself, but he is one of a number of crucial building blocks that we need to put into place to drag ourselves out of the mess that we are in right now.

With all of the chancy and risky business with football and footballers, it is essential that we do everything in our power to risk minimise and put ourselve in the BEST possible position to pick up elite football talent.

Had equal highest number of tackles- 5 and did put his body on the line to smother, which led to a goal.

camel if you play it backwards you'll hear Marc's going to Carlton Marc's going to Carlton Marc's going to Carlton.

on the cover is a barefoot Collo, Marc in the jumper, Denis in white and Ringo 'cos he gets into everything.

and the number plate on the VW reads 17th!

Agree with Bosman..hope Murphy didnt watch this game he would be having second thoughts..the squibbing, inept play and lack of team spirit could have him thinking Brisbane..I'd rather play with Big J Brown looking out for me than some of the shirkers we have...its bad enough we are so poor skill wise but the work ethic and team spirit shown by some players is pathetic and embarrassing...

That last quarter looked as if both teams were doing their best to lose until Hawthorn thought "Ah, stuff it" and kicked a couple of goals.
Houlihan not putting his body on the line did look pretty bad, it's obvious that he doesn't have hardness as part of his game and it's not something that can be taught IMO. I still think he's worth keeping, he does have more skill than most of our players.
I'm more concerned about Campo, how many weeks is it now that he's been beaten by an "inferior" opponent? Sure he's getting plenty of touches across half back, but when his direct opponent is having just as much influence on the game it's pretty damning.
Our rucks were well beaten today by Spider both in the centre and around the ground. Yet again we showed we don't have anyone to match the quicker, smaller forwards.

We'll win our 2nd spoon ever, and honestly I'm not terribly bothered by it. You only lose your cherry once, it hurts less the next time.

I've defended Houla as much as anyone this season....AND in the end his piss weak effort ended up with a better result than if he'd put in a decent, solid tackle and crunched the guy.

BUT

If he was fair dinkum he'd have crunched the guy.

Let him go be the cream on someone else's side who can afford to carry his piss weak efforts.

As for his high tackle count, I'll tell you why.....he's second to the ball because everytime the ball comes to him in a 50-50 contest he's too scared to be tackled himself that he's happy to let his opponant get the ball and out on a piss weak tackle himself.

I think the Longer our season goes, the more We realise how seriously we are in deep Trouble..

NO Crawford, NO Mitchell, NO midfield for hawthorn, yet we Still couldnt go with them.....Geez how bad Can u get.....

if there is one thing i learnt about Carlton since Denis took over, is that The Project " Recyled players will save our Club" turned out to be a complete Disaster.....

guys like Boywer, Bannister, Johnson, Davis, Sporn and and and and........ the list is long..... But all those players have Reached their Tanker.... We seriously can not possibly get anymore out of them....

whats even more worrying is that the Development of Waite, Simpson, Wiggins, Deluca, Bryan & Livingstone seems to be very very slow, and at times i am just not sure if they going forward or backwards.....

Its not just the Draft picks, but Denis seriously needs to go very aggresive at attracting one big name player who is a well known, not just some Dumped Recyled one....
