It looks like Carlton are heading for a Wooden Spoon without getting the number 1 draft pick as i feel he will go to Brisbane, why would you go to Carlton if he doesn't barrack for them and with all the mess there i know most wouldn't go to a job if it was in a mess and always in the news for bad things instead of good. This year draft is one of the weakest and it looks like we will choose the second best who probably as good as Kris Massie with our luck. The AFL has punished us again

Murphy idolised Pagan and Carey. Thats a big reason for him to come to Carlton.

John Murphy didnt like the Fitz/Brisbane merger, thats one influential reason why Marc might be convinced to stay in Melb.

I feel that theres quite a good chance we will be able to pick him. If not, then no regrets, Id rather have been in the position to get him than not.

Rambo,

Do they take the number 1 draft pick away from us if Murphy decides to go to Brisbane? I was not aware that we would lose the No.1 pick if he decides to go to Brisbane.
Anyway hopefully Marc is not too perturbed with the state of our club. Should very much remind him of the club his dad played for in Fitzroy.

Would Deludio or Tambling be upset that they went to the Tigers last year in fact they would have been happy that both nit with standing injury would get a good chance in a weak list and well Deludio has come on strong.. .Same goes with many of the Saints who wnet to a celler dweller club which remained in the bottom end of the draft. Why go there well cause they are picked but i certain they also would benefit in being the building blocks in a revival of the club... And why the Blues not with standing the last 3 years the Blues have a long a illustrious past and has been been very successful and dont think for one minute that it wont return back there in the coming years. If i was a talented youngster and could go to the blues i would be feeling i could make an impact straight away in a team and make a name very early in my career rather than sit and wait for an oppertunity. Also i am certain that even these kids will know that great clubs will return and when they do they i am sure would like to be part of that new greatness.so i reckon we have a good chance of Nabbing Murphy but if he goes to Brissie so be it at least as someone said we where in the best position to get him.

I actually think the AFL is back on our side ... some of the umpiring today was @#$%&! atrocious. It now seems clear that you can be tackled or held without the ball, regardless of how far away you are without having a free kick awarded to you. The umpiring was so crap today, and inconsistent compared to other weeks that I am convinced the AFL wanted us to lose today.

I believe the AFL should give the team who comes last another draft pick before any other club if a Father/Son will be selected as the number 1 Draft pick. If that father/Son has select to play for his father club he signs before draft if not automatically selected to the last team.

The team last should get the next Draft pick 1 that would have most likely be 2nd and 2nd that would have been the third and a priority pick if win less then 5 games

Yes but we still have the number 1 pick but he might be no way as good as Murphy and with our clever recruiters in the last decade we likely to pick number 1 that could be 25.With the range this year it is hard to tell as their really isn't a stand out except Murphy. His dad was a good player for Fitzroy but as a young kid living in Brisbane for a few years sounds exciting you would think, especially if you are taken good care of.

He might think if i go to Carlton people will expect me to be a superstar in my first and second year and there is chaos there i might lose interest of football after beaten each week after week while others in the team dont perform at the best.

and what you said Anyway hopefully Marc is not too perturbed with the state of our club. Should very much remind him of the club his dad played for in Fitzroy. There is no Fitzroy now, John stayed there as he was loyal to the club as the club gave him a chance there, but i bet he would have wanted to play for a successful club.John was a young kid when he went to Fitzroy he would have been happy in any club but he wasn't a number 1 player that everyone wanted, he might have barrack for Fitzroy also back then.

On the money "Blueman" Marc idolised Pagan and the Roos and still does. his old man never accepted the merger and has expressed his strong views several times in the media.

I'm sure Marc was in awe when he met his idol not too long ago!

If Marc were to come on board, I'm sure Pagan would look after him and not send him to the wolves in his first game.

With a talent like that, Pagan wouldn't mess it up.

Carey aside, has Pagan ever had a talent like this?

You do realise the free kick count was 11-3 to Carlton at half time, 16-7 at three quarter time and 22-11 at full time?

That free to Stevens against Franklin in the last quarter was ridiculous. I thought I was watching Skating on Thin Ice on Channel Nine, Stevens felt a light touch on his shoulder and he threw a triple axel with a half pike. He should enter the Winter Olympics, if he sticks the landing on that move it's gold, gold, gold to Australia.

I hope someone hasn't added this, but from all reports Murphy wants to stay in Melbourne, so don't give up on him.
