and a bit tired and emotional (if you know what I mean  ).

Our footy club won it;s second wooden spoon today, yes the season is over, we will win another game though!,

I hope #1 is worth the grief and i cant wait for next year to start because, I love my footy team, and life isnt the same without them.

We must stick fast with our boys and look forward to the futrure with optimism.

Go Blues!

And this time when we bottom out we have full access to the draft unlike 2002 / 2003 where we got shafted bigtime..

Only way from here is up :)

To be honest, I don't feel that disappointed. I've never been in the tanking camp, but we are clearly the worst. And spoons don't matter that much, flags do. To me we must have hit rock bottom, we must start improving. When you barrack for bottom sides, which I have to admit to now, we can say that there is one winner each season and the rest are equal 16th, except we get the draft picks. For those with a real chance who miss the flag, they face the real issue of missing their moment in the sun. I've seen the BLues win a lot of flags and am confident I will again. Our history may be the past but it informs the culture that carries us into the future. There's too many people who have been associated with the Blues great years around that won't let these last few years become a habit.

This is maybe the time to face our monumental failure, coaching, players, drafting and go forward. Everyone needs to have a GHLAT The one thing about finishing bottom is that you can't fool yourself into thinking you are not far away.

Have no fear, EB.

Next year will be the beginning of the NEW Carlton Football CLub.
A club that includes players who want to play for Denis and the club rather than the all mighty dollar.
We will have new, talented young guns in our side.

Despite what some people may think, I'm looking forward to the next three years.

I can't wait to see our current crop of younger players grow and develop.
I can't wait to see what Denis will do when he has no restrictions put in place.
I can't wait to see which young guns we bring in.

Cheer up kids. You still have one high to look forward to.

Our only other win for the year will be against you and we'll miss out on PP's.

Surely that'll put a smile on your faces?

Maybe PJ did, but isn't that what sport and following sport is all about - new hope? Sort of like Star wars.

there are some eery echoes between 2002 and 2005, the finish, the rumours of losing players (which players would be happy coming last? Geesh, standard human behaviour I'd have thought), promise of draft picks... a better future.

Regardless of where you stand, things can only improve (they could of course stay crap for some time but you have to take the improvement in experience of the youngsters as a big plus)

Good to see you back Mandy, one of our better non blue posters apart from your dubious taste in footy teams. And you are right, I'm hoping the Pies win every one of their remaining games - and the Hawks too, I want 1 and 2 pick. See if we can stuff those up.

Somehow I feel the AFL is trying to mess with my head, with this current PP system in place

I have a beautiful 4 month old daughter. Can't wait to start taking her to the footy, mummy isn't so keen about the football but since daddy is, me and my little blue girl, Millie, with the beautiful blue eyes will be regulars together.

Where am i going with this ??

Well when i was growing up in the 70's and 80's eve through the early 90's my team was winning, we were a force. we won flgs not spoons.

The beauty of this, is , that my daughter will also experience this winning sensation. We are shit now, but she still doesn't really understand what football is , ( mind you she loves watching it with daddy on the TV ) but as she gets older and stronger wiser and more beautiful, she too will experience the Blues on Fire. I can see it now Millie and Me singing the song, standing on our seats at the G that sunny day in Sept , singing so proudly our song .Da dara da dara Da ......

It will happen i am confident of this and whilst we are down now, i assure you in a few years from now, somewhere at the G on a beautiful sept afternoon we will be standing singing an me , ill be there with Millie.
:D :D
Look out for us, She'll be the gorgeous one and i'll be the good looking daddy with a great body out of condition.

Proud as , Proud to be Blue and proud like all us Carlton Supporters deserve to be !!

Don't be Sad, be grateful that this day is coming !! :D :D
