If he had of followed through with the "contest" against Franklin you speak of he would now be being offered a 2 week suspension for late and unnecessary contact with 1 week off for a previous good record, spare me.

Agro...good thing you are not defending Ms Corby of Bali fame ... you would get her greased by a firing squad with that defense.
Ryan did what Harry White did in a few big races...put the handbrake on ...he has a couple of those every season and has regressed to his old self and as Tony Shaw said on Fox Footy he should have been dragged...he has had his last chance in my books...I think most of us have been tolerant and even his ardent critics thought he had changed but
its not to be and we have been fooled into thinking he has matured into a decent footballer...

I'm not defending him, I am merely applying the the ludicrous interpretations of the Match Review Panel to the incident if he had of made contact.

"Agro" let it go, he is soft, always has been and always will - It's his style and unfortunately today even his supposingly silky, smooth and whatever skills were not on display, yes many of his team mates turned the ball over but they did put their body on the line something Houlihan will never do.

Stop and think of all the successful sides over the yeras I doubt any of them carried soft players, they may have had players with less skill however they would bleed for the jumper.

The incident with Franklin in the last quater will now mean we will struggle to get any trade for him at the end of the year.

Agree with ya Vet, ive lost count how many times he hits leading players on the toes instead of the chest, spare me the silky skills people, im sick of seeing glimpses of them once every 5 weeks.

Tony Shaw on 3 AW this afternoon referring to the incident: "Yesterday I saw the end of Ryan's career at Carlton...."

Can't recall the incident....

Is Houlihan in Year 2 of a 3 year contract? Not saying I want him traded, but you'd have thought teams 5-10 wouldn't mind him as a winger / forward?

Shaw buried him on Foxtel yesterday. One of the biggest pastings I have ever heard a comentator give a player.

The way Shaw is commentating you would think he is a closet Blues supporter. He was also very critical of Campo (yesterday) - mentioning how Campo did not man up on his opponent, helping the Hawks to get an easy passage to our Goal and that his touches are "soft" - one of the few media people who actually have noticed...

Dont get me wrong i see Houla as 1 of the softest players going around, Justin Murphy gets more hard ball gets than him. But i see him as one of the best kicks to the fowards.

So if we good get a "not so soft player" who can kick for Houla you'd accept it then....

I went away for the weekend and so didn't see the game, but did see the incident on TV. This is nothing new from Houla, but the increased exposure from Shaw may do him in. Interestingly they said this afternoon on AW that Lance gave Houla a baking after the episode. I love Lance. ;)

The problem with Houla is the same problem all of our players have at varying degrees.
There is no one to set the tone.
Do we even have a ferocious player?

Dont say Waite.. half the time he dives at a tackle so he loses his feet because its easier.

Thats one of our MAJORD defensive flaws.. too many of our players fly tackle and always miss so they end up on the ground. That is a soft option compared to doing what Eddie does.. (wrap your arms around their hips and push hard)

People hate Wiggo but hes always in there fighting...so is Davies.

We have a soft team.. both mentally and physically.

Thats starts from the top..

If Kouta crunched somebody or Lance it would filter down to the others.
They dont so it doesnt.
