What will you do if we don't get him? Will you be all upset? If he doesn't end up coming to Carlton should we have won the Hawthorn game?

Won't be upset at all.
We are in a position to get him.
If he doesn't come to us, he doesn't come to us.
At least we won't die wondering as we are in a position to get him.

And besides, we will still win out of this situation anyway.
If he snubs Brisbane, he comes to us.
If he goes to Brisbane, we will most likely get Xavier Ellis.

We win either way, really.

It's an obvious sign that Murphy's more than seriously considering playing for the blues. That's encouraging at this stage of proceedings.

I would have thought that Hawthorn are some sort of chance of beating Richmond and Essendon* for the rest of the season and missing the priority pick all together.
Then we can have Murphy and Ellis. Or any 2 we want.
Hawthorns form since the thrashing they got from Port has been pretty reasonable.
They still have Crawf and Mitchell to come into there side that beat us.

If it is a question of money and a big contract I am sure we can notify Marc Murphy of what we are prepared to offer quietely and discretely.
Brisbane dont have anywhere as much in there cap with still having Mal Michael and Power to sign up and there salary cap advantages being fazed out.

This is just my opinion and my way of thinking, but I like to think we'd get both anyway.
I think Hawthorn would be more inclined to go with someone like Beau Dowler with their first pick to bolster their key position stocks.

But, like all things in the draft, nothing is certain until a name has been read out.

Let Brisbane chase their man. It's obvious they're very nervous about him snubbing them, and they're pulling out all stops to get him.

I've never seen a club chase so hard for a player in so far as to nominate as a f/s.

Goes to show, Marc has his family at heart, too, and Brisbane know it.

We are lobbying in the background, and Brisbane are responding.

Mrs Murphy....... he's your baby! he can't leave the nest!

YOU LOVE HIM TOO MUCH TO SEE HIM GO!!!!!

Let him play for Carlton, and you can see him whenever you want! And you can touch Kouta's abs! It'll be so cool!

BTW, Dowler plays for Oakleigh too... maybe if we promise to sign Beau as well with pick 3????????

nah.... no one will agree that that

Hawthorn might very well select Dowler.
If Roughead keeps playing down back and Hay's foprm and off field stuff continues that only leaves them Franklin as a tall marking player.
With Jetta, Selwood and Gibbs available next year they might believe Dowler is a better player for there club than Xavier who will not play next year anyway and finish school.
We can only hope. I really liked the look of him in the U18s. Just a big lanky kid who is years off fufilling his potential.

Hey PJ, tell this guy in your TAFE class that's good mates with OUR Murph, to pass the message to Murph to read TC and all the wonderful things we think of him, and how we'd love to have him at Carlton (in Bruce Doull speak  ).

That'll do the trick!!!

I think the entourage of Denis, Wayne (Carey), Sticks, Hughesy, Seagull, and Stevo may help, too!!

Mr Smarty pants.. maybe you havent noticed but Optus has crumbled.
I think ill call you 'Nero'.. Nero is a ripper name for a guy who played his 'fiddle ' while Optus burned around him...

PS chance Optus might take over the whole of our sponsorship soon...

You moron! You believe that story about Nero despite the fact that the flute wasn't around when Rome burned!

Not a student of history Synners?

Oh so now youre an expert on flutes....

Ok Nero... i went to see Murphy play on sunday whilkst you were watching the footy show.
What i saw (only saw the second half was a guy getting a few kicks and clearances.
He got himself injured and his team who were infront started slipping.
Murph was put into the forward pocket.. didnt come off..as the Jets caught up he moved HIMSELF into the midfield again to try and take responsibility and matters in his own hands to win the game.
He may have been injured but he put his hand up.. the coach didnt tell him to go into the midfield injured that was Murpphy being pro active .

When is the last time any of our players have done that.?????

When youre trying to think about why were crap Nero... you should consider our leadership from players like Kouta Lappin and Campo...

The answer is in there somewhere......

How can I be Nero Synners?

Think about it...the reason you call me Nero is because you thought (wrongly) that Nero was playing his flute whilst Rome burned. But you didn't ever consider that in about 60AD or whenever it was the fiddle wasn't even invented yet so the story is apochryphal.

Stick to footy Synbad.

He did JohnM...you're right, I meant fiddle, don't know why I said flute..

But the fiddle wasn't invented then so the story is false!
