Well said synbad.

Note that Oakleigh chargers arent doing fabulously well in the TAC cup anyway. For a young player to do things like that in a match is well.....special.

If a certain other team that I know, who had some early pre season success had players that did more of that type of thing earlier in the year, we probably wouldnt be where we are now.

I don't want to be pedantic (but after that introduction, you just know I'm going to be)

but the phrase 'nero fiddled while rome burned' didn't mean he literally played the fiddle. It meant that he fiddled (ie, engaged in frivolous activity) while rome burned. Some historians suggest that nero sang some sort of greek songs to his friends while the joint was going up in smoke. By all accounts, he saw himself as a bit of a minstrel.

Well he certainly wasn't 'playing' the fiddle, like Commodus (Synbad) suggested, for fiddles weren't yet invented. The popular story is that he was playing the fiddle (as in literally playing it) when Rome burned but this can't have been the case.

Synbad, come clean.

You're just posting to get rid of Campo from under your name. Aren't you?

I'd guess you'll need to hit the 2k mark.

Perhaps you could employ the garth eyeroll reply technique instead of words. That'll get you there quicker.

Or break your next post into 35 one-word posts. It'll be like reading a telegram.

Or tell us Campo's 2005 salary, $10,000 per post. That should do you.

Lifestyle will be the key, not 3 year deals.
18 year olds think they will play footy forever.
We need to offer Murphy a lifestyle that appeals.
If he wants to go to uni, we need to pull some strings and get him a placement.
If he wants a job, we should organise now what he wants.
These are the things that we can control to improve our position.

Well the myth about the Nero playing the fiddle is just that, a myth.

But if you really want to know Nero was actually playing a "lyre".

If the instrument fits.

And this is where we have the advantage over Brisbane.

No... i believe that Nero was playing the fiddle with his teeth....

He had previously invented the chords to 'smoke on the water'...which he also played on the lyre AGRO...

Well said Blue Vain.

Brisbane have obviously made their offer because they know, as Marc's father said publicly, that other clubs have held discussions with Marc and his family. With four Melbourne clubs on the bottom of the ladder they'll probably try to convince him before he knew he had a definitive choice at the end of round 22.

While John Murphy has said it will be his son's decision, I'm sure John Murphy would have long held opinions on some of the main players in his son's future, like Leigh Matthews, Ian Collins and Denis Pagan, as he played his football career against these men.

Interesting times ahead.

We should approach John Murphy and tell him that Dan Murphy will pay his son $3M to change his name to Dan.

When he wins the brownlow the exposure will be huge.
