Ben Cousins didn't go to Geelong to follow in his fathers footsteps - hopefully the same philosophy will apply with Murphy.

Spoke to a team mate of Murph's, from Oakleigh, down at training tonight.

I asked him what was the go with Murphy.
His response...

"Nah, very unlikely that he'll go to Brisbane...might be a gun and all, but he's too small and might not go No.1".

My guarantee will prove right.

Interesting comment that he thinks that Murphy won't go No.1.
Is easily the standout of the draft.

Music to my ears, PJ, but I don't know about the 'he's too small and might not go No.1'.

If we are expected to believe this chap about Murphy not going to Brisbane, how are we expected to trust his judgement around what selection in the draft he may go other than No.1?

Then again, this chap hasn't seen the quality of other draftees

With Luke Power re-signing I don'think there's a chance he'll do a "Ben Cousins",not that we lose anything if we get Ellis.

Oh look, I questioned it as well.

That was his opinion, but I still stand by the fact that Murphy will go No.1 and will be playing for the Blues in 2006.

Sounds like he will stay...

It is abit of a worry due to his size as there are not many champions at that hieght, and at pick one nothing but a champion will do.

Why is it that we never can get a 195cm talented player at the club??

I consider Crawford to be a champion player.

Luke Power,Mitchell,Akermanis and Cousins are all around the 178 cms mark and are guns who would be picked in every league side.I haven't seen Murphy or Ellis play, so which one has the biggest upside? You'd have to say Ellis and just pray the Hawks win another 2 matches, so we can possibly get both.

Akermanis at 177cm and Cousins at 179 are champions.
Peter Bell and Luke Power are not quite champions but gun players.

And all four of those blokes would get a game in our side.

I don't see the big fuss abuot 2 or 3cm height difference either way. Put your fingers 3cm apart and look at how small it is. How does it make any difference at all if you are 178 or 181cm tall?

Big difference in terms of KPP.
