Put your fingers 3cm apart and look at how small it is. How does it make any difference at all?

sounds like you've got a bit of experience with this experiment, Heavs. Come up much, this issue, does it?

I had a look through the WC side and they have a lot of short players.

Matera 171
Wirripunda 173
Braun 175
Sampi 177
Kerr 178
Cousins 179
Fletcher 179

Does not seem to be stopping them winning the odd few games. All are pretty quick apart from Fletcher.

If Murphy is likely to be the best player over his career then we need to get him. If it is Ellis then lets get him first.
We know Murphy is 179cms and Ellis 187 and Ellis is younger.
The point is in 5 years who is going to be a better player. Simple as that.
Same for going for a Clark, Ryder or Kennedy.

Where are they at now?
How much physical development is left in them?
Footy brain?
Hard trainers?
Good attitude?
Are the WA boys going to want to return home? Get homesick?
Versatility?
Leadership?

We all like Murphy because of his pedigree and his leadership skills. That is what sets him out for me.
I would love to see the Hawks win 2 more games so we can get both.

I still think we can claim both even if Hawks get a priority pick.

Only my opinion though.

Happy to select two smaller types if they're the best available. The list is like swiss cheese at the moment, but all the best sides of the modern era have had multiple high-possession match-controlling midfielders. Now let's go get us a couple - it'd be a great start. If Murphy's there, there's no doubt he's first pick material.

Sounds like he will stay...

It is abit of a worry due to his size as there are not many champions at that hieght, and at pick one nothing but a champion will do.

Why is it that we never can get a 195cm talented player at the club??

I consider Crawford to be a champion player.

Akermanis at 177cm and Cousins at 179 are champions.
Peter Bell and Luke Power are not quite champions but gun players.

And all four of those blokes would get a game in our side.

And any one of those blokes would be captain if he was in our side... :(
