if we win against collingwood, it not only means we will lose number 1 pick, but we are the best chance they have for a win....so if we beat them they keep their priority pick....we must lose....cause if we do lose its a win-win situation...we keep no.1 pick and also knock out collingwood from the priority round...

I think Carlton can win one more game and stay inside PP territory?

Yeh, were 3 and a half now, we can win 1 more, but who gives a flower if we lose the number 1 pick, picks 1 to 5 is gonnabe a good player,
1 - Hodge, 2 - Ball, 3 - Judd,
1 - goddard, 2 -wells,
1 Deledio , 5 - Franklin

neways i still recon we might win 2 games.

Does anyone remember a season where Collingwood supporters were wishing for Carlton wins, and Carlton supporters were wishing for Collingwoods?

It's a sad world in which we live.

I found myself barracking for the Hawks yesterday. Nothing wrong with that until I analysed my reasons for it.

I reckon today may have cured my bout of the plague.

To be perfectly frank, I don't give a @#$%&! about number 1 draft pick or the priority pick, I want to feel the way I felt today & I want to sing my song!

and what better way to do that then to rebuild this year...(and possibly next too...) and enjoy singing the song week in, week out for 5 years....
we are nearly there...! simpson, fisher, waite, carazzo, bentick and eddie all played fantastically today, along with walker, hartlett and russell who are still to come in, we have a real backbone of youth who are starting to blossom...add a murphy or ellis, or both to that mix...and we are looking at a dominating combination....

with patience comes glory....

Despite all the talk of us tanking, tanking against us and the Hawks must be equally attractive to all other teams not playing in the finals.

Who's to say they wouldn't be quite happy to let us win and get us out of Priority Pick territory? Essendon*/Collingwood would be the major benificiaries if we were to somehow win enough games to get out of PP territory. Suddenly the 3rd and 4th best players go to Ess/Coll, and not us/Hawks. Worst part is, Ess/Coll make up 2 of our next 4 games.

I have a bad feeling that Ess/Coll aren't going to come out particularly hard against us.

if that was the case with Essendon* tanking i doubt they would have tried so hard to win on friday night....
collingwood would be throwing games for sure...only problem for them is...we want it more....(the pick that is)...so we will probably lose...

Not everyone is obsessed with a PP Shag

Denis and Collo clearly are aware.

On MMM pre-match...."Denis, what are you looking for in the last 5 rounds?" "A win"

draw against the Pies. This way we feel great about winning (PP) and better still with a drawn game, because Collingwood at the very worst end up with five and half wins. As for the Hawks who really cares they control there own destiny.

Either way winning is great so whatever happens at least there is an upside. :)
