The cold hard fact is, nobody is jealous of Carlton right now. Not St Kilda supporters, not any other opposition supporter. The glory days are gone, the days of having bragging rights have passed.

You have 16 cups in your cupboard? So what. We have 14. So what? St Kilda have 1. So what?

The point now is that St Kilda are having a much better season THIS year than either of us put together. As hard as it may be to take, they actually have the bragging rights over us.

Believe me when I say I know what it's like to live in the past and rely on history, but there comes a time when you just have to accept that it just doesn't matter anymore. What matters is future success, and from where I'm sitting it appears that both of us will be waiting a long time before it comes our way again....

Because you can kick as many super goals off the ground you like and you can have 100 billion dollars but you can only still pay under the salary cap to get a good list. ... at the end of the day were in a better position than you are....because we know what we really need to do to improve.. and youre just accumulating $$$$ that doesnt translate to anything in a football sense.

Ps there are a few things about to happen over the next few weeks (2 months that will transform the club off field too) but we will be rebuilding better than you too...

Mandy well put. Both Blues and Pies have little for others to get excited about when looking from the outer.

I have lived overseas and away from it all for over 3 years. I am forced to follow it weekly without all of the emotion, and now i recognise how we all get caught up in self importance and over state our sense of worth.

You make a lot sense when suggesting that most outside of Carlton or Collingwood don't care about our past successes

..... we all chase a similar target market when attempting to pull in new members......kids and perhaps those who haven't followed the game before......other than perhaps securing lapsed members each year to boost numbers, our past glories do nothing for securing 'new' members. Long term it becomes very tough work on memebrship and income if you are not winning games or at least demonstrating that something close to it.
