David Parkin when asked a long time ago about the most important player in his side came up with Earl Spalding. He said something along the lines of "When Earl plays we win 90% of the time, when he doesn't that drops to 50%.
I'm a Digby Morrell fan. The guy's certainly not in Earl's league but he's honest and decent and if your daughter was going out with him you wouldn't be too concerned...
Stats can be used to prove anything but it's interesting to have a look at our team's performance since Digby arrived at the club (when he plays versus when he doesn't).
Diggers success rate is as follows:
Games played: 28
Games won: 12
Games lost: 16
Win Rate: 42.86%
Interesting also to turn it around and look at the figures when Digby doesn't play:
Games played: 12
Games won: 1.5
Games lost: 10.5
Win Rate: 12.5%
This isn't meant to be an argument to suggest we'll suddenly win a stack more games if Digby plays all the time, just an observation.
